Hello and welcome! If you reading my personal statement you have taken that first step to reach out for help or support. For some of you this first step might have been easy, for many others starting the search took some time. And choosing a counsellor by having a brief conversation is next. I start the counseling process exactly where you are. Using a style that is usually collaborative and gentle, but can switch to utilizing humour and challenge if that works better for you.
Together we can explore what has brought you to seek therapy and what you would like to change through the therapeutic process. I use interventions from a number of theoretical orientations (INF, EFT, CBT informed) but I am always guided by what looks and feels right for you.
Taking that next step and reaching out for help can be difficult but counselling can help. Counselling can increase your understanding of the problem, help you explore feelings and possible routes for action and set the stage for change.
