I have over 25 years of experience working in the field of mental health in a variety of areas, however, my passion has landed in the area of supporting individuals over the age of 50 as they navigate the many changes that come with this time of life. I believe that this age group is often overlooked when it comes to counselling support and services and yet it is a significant time in people’s lives where they experience many transitions, changes and personal growth.

Together we can help you find coping tools, gain insights and make positive lasting changes in your life. People would want to contact me for support if they are looking for someone who can provide connection, trust, and solutions in an meaningful and efficient manner. It is my belief that people are typically within a spectrum of need where they either 1) need to disclose what they have been holding inside; 2) need the skills to cope with what has happened or what they think might happen; 3) somewhere in the middle of needing someone to listen but stay focused on solutions for today. Life is full of tough moments and important transitions which impact our functioning and sometimes requires new skills and ways of solving problems.

Work-life balance can be difficult to manage on your own, especially if you are struggling with mental health; whether that be from a recent traumatic event or historical trauma. Layered in this can be undiagnosed learning conditions and/or caregiving responsibility, which can lead to heightened emotional stress or crisis. It is helpful to have a support network; either in your personal life, in the community, or even medically. Creating boundaries for ones self is a big step and I can help through this by providing solution-focused, goal oriented strategies, hopefully creating more balance and getting back to your 'normal self'.

Hi there, the past few years has really impacted all of us in various different ways. Having worked in the health care system for a number of years, I understand the dynamics that interplay when we are personally struggling. Our physical health, mental health, emotional health and spiritual health are all equally important. Those hardships, and stresses we face in life, such as financial burdens, grief, loss, isolation, family dynamics and medical circumstances to name a few, can bring us to a place where we might struggle to find the answers and ways in which to cope.
