The teen and young adult years can be tumultuous and fraught with challenges. Many young people experience difficulties during this time which can result in emotional, behavioral, social, academic and/or family issues. Therapy provides an opportunity to stop, reflect, and talk about issues confidentially and openly. I work individually with teens aged 14 and older, as well as adults, in an environment of compassion, non-judgement and respect. Clients and I work collaboratively to explore concerns, examine different perspectives, and work through challenges and obstacles to change, in order to make healthy choices.
With over 30 years of experience, I incorporate a psychodynamic approach with cognitive behavioral techniques. My aim is to understand the client's history and how the past may be influencing the present, while also helping clients with effective coping strategies. I am also experienced in psychoeducational evaluations for learning difficulties and ADHD.
