It takes a lot of courage to decide to seek support. We start where you are and go at a pace that is comfortable for you. I work with feminist and anti-oppressive perspectives. The areas around which I have experience include depression, anxiety, compassion fatigue, trauma, relationship violence, grief, issues around being queer, questioning your sexual orientation and transitioning genders, immigrant and refugee settlement, and culture shock. With clients, I primarily employ the evidence based approaches of Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, Brainspotting, Attachment Theory, mindfulness, and Polyvagal Theory.
My other areas of experience include research on the experiences of LGBTQ caregivers, Compassion fatigue, as well as research and trauma work with refugees and immigrants. I also have experience writing psychosocial assessments for refugee claimants.
I am a queer parent living in Kingston.
