I have experience providing individual counselling to children, youth, and families. I offer services in relation to trauma, grief and loss, transitions, family breakdowns, coping, anxiety, depression, ADD/ ADHD, emotional regulation, anger management, and other mental health diagnosis'. I provide brief therapy services which is goal oriented and aimed at debriefing an event, or offering clients new skills they can utilize. This type of service is ideal for those with a limited number of sessions through their insurance or EAP. I also offer more intensive services aimed at helping people work through their trauma.
Much of my work with younger clients is play-based through play therapy, sand-tray therapy and narrative therapy. With adolescents and adults I use a variety of approaches depending on the client and the reason for counselling. Some approaches I use include ACT, DBT, CBT, SFT, psychoeducation and psychotherapy.
As someone providing services to children and families for over 8 years, I have a deep empathy for the situations that individuals and families are faced with. I believe that with the right supports children and individuals can thrive and overcome barriers in their lives.
