And as a psychotherapist, my role is distinct yet profoundly significant. I am neither a parent worried about attachment nor a teacher focused on academics. Instead, I am a safe haven where a child can speak freely, without fear of judgment or misunderstanding. However, my work extends beyond individual therapy sessions. True and lasting change emerges from the family dynamic. My goal is to support not just the child, but the entire family.
Helping parents understand and navigate their child's unique needs. To parents, I say: your willingness to engage and learn is the foundation of this journey. Autism or ADHD diagnoses can cause worry and frustration. These feelings are valid and isolating, but you are not alone. A diagnosis is not a limitation.
It offers clarity and insight into how a child interacts with the world. Our children deserve the chance to be extraordinary, to reach their full potential, and to learn without being sidelined by their diagnoses. Any diagnosis is just one aspect of who they are. Our children can be great, and they will be great, they just need someone to believe in them.
