I have more than 20 years of experience in working with adult and geriatric patients in individual therapy. I feel comfortable working with a variety of issues, ranging from anxiety and depressive disorders to relational difficulties and trauma. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective, working together with you as a partner, using a relatively structured and directive approach. I use CBT techniques, such as stress management, cognitive restructuring, thought stopping and mindfulness training. I recognize that it can be difficult to open yourself up to therapy, and will be there to support and guide you.
I have specialized in the treatment of PTSD, specifically for World Trade Center (9/11) survivors, veterans, rape victims, accident victims, and Holocaust survivors and their families. I also have almost 20 years of training in neuropsychological assessment of adults and geriatrics, for dementia, ADHD, and other cognitive disorders.
I have taken my experience working with the aging population both in psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment and have developed a focus on Memory Wellness and training for adults of all ages (who do not have a memory disorder). The focus is on prevention through lifestyle changes and utilizing memory strategies.
