Being a teenager is hard. Between school, parents, peers, and social media, it feels like everyone is judging you about everything. Maybe you find yourself saying “I’m not smart enough”, “I’m not pretty enough”, or “Something is wrong with me!” If you feel overwhelmed by expectations and wish you didn’t care what anyone thinks about you, you are not alone! I’ve been there, felt that, and now I help teens, like you, learn to let go of expectations and discover who they are and who they want to be. If you’re sick of trying to be liked by everyone else, and ready to like yourself so you can be yourself, then you are in the right place!
I work with teens ages 12 to 19, primarily addressing challenges related to anxiety, body image and eating disorders, gender and sexuality, social pressures, and perfectionism. I adjust my therapeutic approach based on your needs and interests. Meaning, yes, we can definitely talk about which Taylor Swift lyrics are hitting hard these days.
Sometimes you need someone to talk to who isn’t your parent or your friend or a teacher. I aim to create a space for you to express your feelings, think critically about your experiences, and find some humour along the way.
