I work from the belief that we do not heal in isolation. Therapy can provide a space for exploration of your lived experience and internal world, and can help with deepening your connection to self. I view healing as a process of integration, where all parts of you can be met with care, compassion, and understanding. As a therapist I aim to provide deep listening, and will accompany you as you work through painful or difficult experiences. I believe in the importance of creating safety within this work, so that the healing process is not overwhelming. I believe that trauma lives in the body, and so too does the wisdom to heal it.
My work is informed by polyvagal theory, neuroscience, somatic/body based approaches, internal family systems, and sensorimotor art therapy. I work from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, attachment-based and relational lens. I strive to practice from the stance of cultural humility, and am committed to continuous engagement with learning.
I believe therapy should be empowering and collaborative. I offer support to deepen your understanding of your nervous system, to work through difficult emotions, to get to know different parts of yourself, to work through traumatic experiences, to embody your values, to deepen self compassion, and work towards positive change in your life.
