I am a licensed psychologist and we can work together in a friendly, collaborative relationship to help you to set and achieve goals for a happier, more fulfilling work and personal life aligned with your values and priorities.
Are you disappointed with the turn your life has taken? Do you find yourself overwhelmed by feelings of worry, sadness, loneliness, or anger? Do you find it hard to enjoy what you have today, but feel stuck in the past, or keep worrying about the future? Do you struggle to communicate your feelings effectively to others? When we don't learn to successfully deal with our thoughts and emotions, when past wounds are left unattended, they intensify, and get expressed in unproductive, angry, or hurtful ways towards yourself and the people you love.

Many of our clients are struggling with multiple issues - depression, anxiety, relationship problems, overeating - and often feel like everything is wrong and don't know why. Some have tried therapy before, but either didn't feel understood, or the work didn't lead to lasting change. If you see yourself in any of the following, we can help: have trouble forming or keeping relationships; stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns; feel burned out, running on empty, and can never quite seem to catch up; feel as though everyone else comes first; worry constantly about the stresses of life; can't seem to slow down and relax; constant feelings of panic or anxiety; self-sabotaging or self-destructive behaviour; feel disconnected from yourself or others; feelings of being numb; struggle with emotional eating and poor body image; low self-esteem or lack of confidence; victim of abuse or neglect, in childhood or adulthood. Our clients may struggle with any of these issues, among others, but all have one thing in common: they are ready to do the real work of healing the source of their suffering.

Some specialty areas in which I have additional training include: trauma, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and relationship issues.
In my 18 years of working as a psychologist I have met with all types of people facing a myriad of challenges. What I have learned over the years is every one of us is doing our very best to get through life. Sometimes, we need help learning new ways to be our best selves. My goal in therapy is guiding people not just to survive, but to thrive. I will meet you where you are, and build from there. I like to teach skills that can be used long after therapy has ended. I focus not only on healing trauma and reducing symptoms, but I also help others find meaning and fulfillment in order to enjoy life again.

Are you the parent of a struggling child, teenager or young adult, wondering what you could do to help them feel better? Does your child want to take care of their emotions but most of the time, their emotions take control of them? Are they struggling with an unhealthy relationship or high anxiety? Do they make a lot of impulsive decisions that they later regret? Or, are you a teen or young adult yourself? Do you feel like no one understands what you are going through? Do you want to feel truly heard? Have you tried different types of therapies and nothing seems to work?

At some point, we have all experienced stress, felt anxious, overwhelmed, sad or depressed. No one is immune to the common human struggles. Sometimes, we can get better on our own, but other times, we notice patterns that we have not been able to change, or issues start to overwhelm and negatively affect our lives, relationship, work or academic learning. The decision to seek therapy is a positive and courageous step to achieve psychological and emotional clarity in order to lead a more productive and satisfying life.

I provide therapy services to adults who are looking to make positive changes in their lives by developing their strengths and devising new strategies to deal with recurring problems. I recognize that therapy can be emotionally-intense and I aim to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel free to explore and discuss their difficulties. I work most often with clients on the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues and difficulties related to self-esteem.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
