I provide a therapeutic approach that uses CBT, DBT and attachment-based therapy so that you and your child feel safe, at ease and supported to process.
When your child is going through a challenging time (like navigating divorce, separation, loss or trauma) it can be devastating to watch them suffer. As a parent, you might feel lost and confused about how to support your child. Or, perhaps you are navigating through the choppy waters of grief, unsure of how to withstand the next tidal wave of your emotions. You might be trying to make sense of a traumatic loss, a catastrophic event or feelings of hopeless and despair that you can't seem to move through. Every day, I help children and individuals reclaim their peace, ease and joy, reclaiming their lives and healing from pain.

I work with teens and children as young as 6 years old.
Do you feel like your child is a stranger to you? Have you noticed their grades dropping in school or them pulling away from friends? Do you notice your child becoming absorbed in social media and less interested in their extracurriculars? Are they setting high standards for themselves? Does your child get upset and they can’t tell you why? Is your child yelling or crying for long periods of time, and you don’t know what to do? Do you feel like your teen doesn’t talk to you? You are not alone. Children and teens grow up quickly, and these sudden changes can be more than just growing pains.

Child Counsellors
Child psychologists in Ontario provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time (likely in fewer than six sessions), the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Ontario build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
