Most people will face challenges in their lives, whether it's symptoms of a mental health concern (e.g. anxiety/depression) or situational (e.g. work, relationships). These challenges can lead us off track, struggling to cope and we find ourselves feeling unfulfilled or distressed. I work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, relationship issues, trauma, grief and work/life balance concerns. I aim to tailor my approach to each individual client so they feel able to implement the change they want. This may include a focus on learning skills or building a deeper awareness.

Help for Helpers: “How are you, really?” Is taking care of others, responding to constant demands at work and juggling responsibilities at home leaving you on high alert, feeling disconnected, exhausted, resentful and lost in your sense of self? Putting your emotions on hold, compartmentalising your life, minimising the impact of your work and your responsibilities at home and simply pushing through can lead to burn out, symptoms of anxiety, depression and PTSD. You do not have to do this alone, I am here to support you.

Do you struggle with issues around anxiety, depression or managing symptoms of ADHD? Are you a parent struggling to manage your child’s big feelings or perhaps your own roller-coaster of emotions? There is so much information online, it can get overwhelming and leave you feeling stuck. As a registered social worker, I can help you make sense of it all. My experience as a therapist working with adults and children in multiple countries, providing support for families of gifted children, and leading an adoption support group has led me to approach therapy from a culturally sensitive lens and strength-based perspective.

I believe that we are ALL survivors of trauma. When we go through a traumatic experience, whether it's small or big, a part of us remains stuck in the experience. We hold onto unintegrated emotions and negative beliefs about ourselves. As a result, we tend to attract and get triggered by situations that remind us of these difficult experiences - until we are able to heal. Through various techniques, most notably EMDR, we can work with these unintegrated parts of the self to desensitize and reprocess these experiences and memories. The client can be freed of these patterns and stories and achieve their therapeutic goals.
