Starting in experimental psychology my career began as a psychometrist assessing the factors that contribute to mental health challenges. Delivering individual and group therapy to a diverse group of clients and involving various health care practitioners in a hospital and community setting, I appreciate the challenge of case formulation. Understanding how the past impacts the choices made today and finding effective strategies for change.

My job is to make a person grounded through meditation, self talk, positive thinking and self awareness to find the self-confidence to get up and walk again.
Problems are inevitable and normal in life, some can be small and some bigger than one can handle. At that time an extra set of hands surely help. I can be that extra set of hands to pick you up when you are down by listening to you without judging, guiding you to get back to the rhythm of life, and cheering you from side lines, using some time tested techniques that have helped many to overcome trauma, depression, anxiety, anger issues, addictions and grief, to name a few. I have helped many people in my 25 years of professional life in USA and Canada. I invite you to join me to explore your unending possibilities in life.

More ease with your friends, more purpose with your job, releasing the trauma you’ve been through, and strategies, light bulb moments, and transformational conversations that make it all actually happen.
I know, it feels daunting coming across another profile finding the perfect match. You’re here because of all that heaviness you carry: your life feels like it’s in chaos with the toxic relationships, the soul-sucking career, the trauma that follows you like a shadow - you just feel lost and like you’re drowning. You’re starting to think maybe this is permanent? So when and how can this get better? Don’t worry, we’re not going to slap a self-help book, podcast, or Instagram meme on it. You need your own space and time to process what you're going through, and that is what we are hear for - to start your healing process.

Throughout my career, acceptance of ourselves has been core to my practice.
Adversity is one thing that we can come to expect in an increasingly demanding and stressful world. When adversity overwhelms us, it can impact those parts of our lives that are most meaningful. Whether adversity presents as emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal conflict, addiction, anger or loss; the impact can be devastating, undermining our sense of self and confidence. These issues are at the core of my practice.

Namaste! I provide individual, relationship and marriage counselling, in a nonjudgmental, relaxed environment. Over the last 35 years I have worked with individuals and couples guiding, teaching and helping them by using an eclectic approach, and a variety of different types of modalities depending on the particular needs of my clients. I also provide family mediation and relationship counselling for couples who have split. I am a sex therapist, working with all couples and individuals. I specialize in many areas, as I believe all issues are connected, so to treat problems in isolation is unrealistic and can be short lived.

I work with couples, parents, families, and individuals to improve communication and coping strategies. Together we will build goals, deep dive into past experiences to identify current thought-feeling-behaviour patterns that are keeping you stuck and create new helpful patterns to improve your relationships and daily life. Couples will learn how to step into each other's world to feel heard, seen, and celebrated by their partner. It may seem impossible to find your way in the darkest moments, but with the right, non-judgmental support and guidance, it is never too late to find and shine your inner light.

Career Guidance Counsellors

How do I know if I need career counselling?

Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?

The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?

Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
