My approach is integrative, pulling from Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, EFT, mindfulness, somatic therapy, and relational therapy.
So, you’re here because you want change. Maybe you are desperate for relief, but how can therapy help? Therapy is a process of reconnection. Connecting to yourself, your heart, and to others. When space is held for all parts of you to express themselves and be heard, things that were stuck can begin to move. It’s simple, but it’s not easy- fear and shame can make it so hard to be okay with ourselves and our lives. But you don’t have to do this alone.

I try to support you to understand the physical and somatic elements of experience, and find ways to soothe, calm, and energise the body, and understand its story.
I support you to feel safer and healthier in your environment, relationships and body. Rooted in an anti-oppressive framework, I help understand how past experiences, may be impacting in the present, and explore the mind-body connection. By building trust and deeply listening, I try and support you to meet your goals for therapy. I work extensively with folks who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, issues of self-worth, self-harm, dissociation and integrating psychedelic or transpersonal experiences. I also frequently work with couples and parents. I am a certified psychedelic assisted therapist, IFS and ACT therapist.

I bring curiosity, compassion, presence and informed intuition to our collaboration, along with extensive expressive arts, internal family systems, somatic and arts-based resources.
In my private practice as an expressive arts therapist I use the arts along with conversation and reflection, to help clients get ‘unstuck,’ uncover resources for change and growth, live with suffering when necessary and celebrate the joy of life as we humans always have -- by making meaning through making art. Increasingly, I also draw on Internal Family Systems (working with our "parts") to support and inform a safe and effective healing environment. I work with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, creative blocks, eating disorders, physical illness, grief, trauma and sexual abuse.

I incorporate aspects of Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment, Trauma-Informed Breath work, Somatic and Mindfulness-based therapies.
Do you feel as if you are constantly oscillating between feeling stuck and overwhelmed? Do you struggle with regulating emotions, anxiety, or finding balance? Maybe past wounds are keeping you stuck in the same old relational patterns, or the reality of living in the modern world is overwhelming, leaving little room for connecting with yourself. I support individual adults to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. My practice is rooted in the belief that within every person exists a wellspring — a source of innate wisdom, and creativity. I support you to heal the relationship you have with all parts of yourself.

Our sessions may involve mindfulness and somatic work, such as breath work, grounding, movement, creative expression, implementing new skills that fit your interests and goals, as well as drawing on supports and resources.
Having the right therapist to talk to and collaborate with on your goals, challenges, and emotional turmoil can help put things into perspective and create a plan for success. It can be challenging to navigate the world in the face of oppression, disability, stigma, and other barriers to success. My therapy draws on inner strengths and authenticity to manage complex thoughts and emotions and increase feelings of empowerment. I emphasize meaning-making, the importance of self-efficacy, and perceived control of experiences in the healing process from cognitive, somatic, and social-constructivist perspectives.

I use a variety of modalities backed by research such as ACT, attachment and trauma-informed work, CBT, DBT, EFT, Narrative, and somatic (body-based) interventions.
Many folks come to me feeling overwhelmed, confused, or disconnected from their emotions or behaviours. They find themselves feeling triggered in relationships, or shy away from sharing their authentic selves with others. Some have significant struggles with their focus and can't consistently complete tasks they know are well within their abilities. When we don't know how or why this happens, a sense of powerlessness and shame creeps into our lives. Trust me, I understand confronting these issues is challenging and vulnerable. Changing these patterns is very possible and may be some of the most important work you do in your life.

I honour the interconnectedness of mind and body by utilizing both somatic work and traditional talk therapy, all via online video conference for greater comfort and accessibility.
Are you struggling with the aftermath of a breakup, the loss of a loved one, or facing a life-changing diagnosis? Do you feel weighed down by caregiver burnout or the anxiety of anticipating a loss? Has your sense of safety been shattered? Grief and trauma can manifest in many ways—from subtle shifts to profound disruptions—and all of them deserve care and attention. Leaving this pain unaddressed can feel overwhelming and isolating. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space to help you navigate these experiences and create personalized pathways toward healing.

I work in the areas of Meditation and Mindfulness, Somatic therapy, Trauma/PTSD, and Group therapy.
We live in a very fast paced world. The pressures on us are mounting. Stress is high. And in spaces where we should be more and more connected we are feeling incredibly high amounts of isolation. Whatever you are dealing with right now, you don’t need to do it alone. Reaching out for support is vital. Connecting with a therapist is a way to help alleviate some of the stress.

Practicing from a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens, I draw from a variety of modalities including psychodynamic and somatic approaches such as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy or AEDP (certified Level 1), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS or parts work), and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).
With over five years of counselling experience focusing on easing anxiety, low mood, and attachment struggles, I’m deeply passionate about building supportive relationships with clients as a foundation to work on feeling more balanced, connected, and motivated. As someone with lived experience managing ADHD and my own mental health, I understand the unique challenges that come with adulting in this context. Everyone comes to therapy with their own unique experiences and reasons for seeking support; my aim is to help you feel more mobilized to discover and meet your needs outside of therapy.

Caitlin likes to work from an integrative approach toward therapy modalities because she believes that every individual’s process is unique, and that treatment should not comply with a one-size-fits-all approach. She believes assessing the cognitive, emotional, somatic, and behavioural aspects of all experiences is important. Caitlin draws from evidence-based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma- Informed Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy and Mindfulness.

Somatic Counsellors

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
