My experience covers ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Burnout, Racial Identity, Grief & Loss, Life Transitions and Relationships.
Navigating life's challenges can be difficult and reaching out for support is often the hardest step. I am here to provide a “safer”, caring and supportive space to you in your mental health journey. I step into the therapeutic space as a woman of colour and a psychotherapist. I recognize how the systems we exist in influence our lives and experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, intersectional, and anti-oppressive. In our sessions, I encourage exploration, offer support, and nurture fresh perspectives through gentle and creative methods.

I have experience supporting and guiding individuals through concerns about mood, anxiety, occupational/school stress, (cross)-cultural and racial identity, gender and sexuality, refugee and (re)settlement experiences, trauma, substance use and addictions, interpersonal and relational problems, and more.
I’m from Melbourne, Australia and lived in Toronto for over three years. Prior to living in Canada, I spent over six years as a mental health clinician working in youth mental health, community health, and addictions. I’m incredibly passionate about supporting adolescents, teenagers and young adults, to achieve optimal mental wellness and thrive in their communities. I am dual licensed, practicing in Canada and Australia. Alongside my private practice, I work in the non-profit sector providing trauma counselling to children, youth and adults with refugee backgrounds.

I've helped clients work through relationship issues, anxiety/depression, OCD, ADHD management, and struggles with racial identity/trauma.
Are you trying to move forward in life, but find yourself constantly weighed down by the struggles you're facing? You might find yourself feeling anxious and unable to let things go, numb and shut down, or feeling disconnected from the person you want to be and the life you want to be living. If that sounds like you, know that this is all part of being human - and it doesn't have to go on forever like this. I applaud you for taking the courageous first step of seeking support - and I am committed to collaboratively helping you find a way forward.

When we strive to be independent and responsible, it can feel natural to dismiss and intellectualize our emotions. We become skilled in managing the feelings of others, while minimizing our own. We might understand what is causing us pain, but feel stuck and overwhelmed about taking action. I offer non-judgemental space for individuals and couples to explore these experiences with nuance and compassion. My areas of focus include ADHD, relationships, perfectionism, anxiety, grief, career concerns and racial identity. Together, we'll cultivate resilience and self-awareness, moving you towards where you want to be.

It's not true, you do not have to face the hard stuff alone, so I honour your bravery in reaching out for help in a capitalistic, ableist society that favours individualism. I am so excited for you to lean into the support of a therapeutic relationship which is the foundational element to our work together. I focus on centering your individual experience with consideration for systemic, cultural, and political factors that influence your quality of life and relationships.

I help survivors of emotional and physical abuse find relief from their pain. One of the greatest ways that trauma impacts us is by making a mess of our relationships and emotions. We struggle to feel safe with and to trust others. We may bend over backwards only to get nothing in return or we feel isolated because our attempts to keep ourselves safe have pushed everyone away. Often we feel misunderstood and out of control of our emotions with intense anger, shame, guilt, and sadness. Other times we feel numb and struggle to feel at all. It doesn't have to be this way forever.

My practice involves co-creating a compassionate space for clients to explore why they might feel stressed, anxious, depressed or a loss of meaning in life. We all in some way, seek to bring relief and meaning to what we have gone through and the challenges we are currently facing. Often times our trauma can keep us in patterns that no longer serve us, hindering our connection to ourselves and others.

Finding the right therapist can be an emotionally draining and taxing process. If you're looking for a different therapy experience that is highly collaborative and engaging, this is the right fit for you! I like to provide emotional space, humour, and ask reflective questions that will get your brain working a little harder. Clients often say to me: "Wow, that is a good question! Let me think about this for a moment." I also practice from a person-in-environment approach. I analyze and take into consideration of systemic factors that may be impacting your overall well-being.

Years ago whilst dealing with some health issues that affected me both mentally and physically a mentor/counsellor told me to “change my thoughts, in order to change my world. Because my present circumstances at the time did not determine were I go, but where I started." Hence, I do understand how mental and physical struggles can impact one's life and that admitting to those struggles and asking for help is never easy. I am here to walk alongside you on the journey to healing and restoration.
