At times, life can be challenging. I've learned that these lived experiences are important in therapy. Whether it is a loss of a loved one, self-esteem, body image, family conflicts or care giver burnout…I’ve been there and I can help support you with that.

I work with people experiencing the struggles of being human in our modern world. People who know anxiety and alienation, and those grappling with grief of all kinds. Maybe you're cracking under the pressure of impossible societal expectations. Maybe you're navigating big changes, losses and overwhelm. Or maybe you've built relationships that no longer nourish you or maybe never did. I imagine that whatever brings you here, you're wanting wellness on your terms. I can support you in exploring new ways of being true to yourself, in a space where play, humour, and lightness are always welcome.

Are you new to therapy, and need a supportive, you-focused introduction to life-changing self-awareness? Maybe you've been doing therapy for years, but feel like something from the process is "missing"? Do you still feeling stuck, despite how many breathing exercises and positive self-talk you do? Struggling with childhood trauma, eating challenges, anxiety, grief (or all of the above?). Then let's talk! Using a combination of talk therapy, body-based somatics, critical reframing and psychoeducation, I work with individuals and clients to go DEEPER and get the support and results they're looking for.

I invite you to journey with me in spirit, and to discover through your period of great stress, grief, or circumstantial turmoil, inner strength that you never knew existed, and just what you are 'really made of'.
It is my firm belief that everyone deserves someone to talk to, and to pour out what has been long kept in their heart, body, mind, spirit, and soul. It is with that belief, that I offer my skills, and trained ear as a counselor, in order to help you navigate through this situation that you are finding yourself going through. You are never alone. Although it may feel like this at this very moment, you are stronger than you think that you are. Real strength, in my opinion, is being able to be vulnerable, being able to disclose a hidden problem or area of great pain, and to deal with this 'head on', and with someone who can help you.

Accepting New Clients! I am well renowned for working with relationship issues (using attachment theory) with individuals and couples, and mood disorders (depression, anxiety). I have robust expertise in treating concerns surrounding sleep/insomnia. Beyond that I treat struggles of self-esteem/self-worth, existential questions, burnout, life transitions, and other concerns. I also have lengthy career experience working therapeutically with grief and loss, as well as caregiver burnout. Yes that's a lot, but I just thinking helping people to heal is very neat, and so I studied and have learned much.

My areas of speciality include attachment, sexuality, life transitions, parenting, and grief.
My practice is rooted in the view that everyone has the innate wisdom and natural goodness to find more of the joy and satisfaction they seek. We all have obstacles to this in our lives that can be shifted and cleared. I provide psychotherapy virtually to couples and individuals in Ontario. As a long-time practitioner of meditation, I employ presence-based strategies helping you connect with self-compassion, bravery and calm. You set the pace for the counselling process and we walk along together. Using a combination of Emotionally-Focused, mindfulness and sex positive approaches, I support enhanced resiliency and practical change.

Feeling grief, disconnection, sadness? Do you feel like you don’t know who you are anymore? Do you show up for others, but do not know how to meet your needs? The grief of losing your sense of self results from going through loss and trauma. One’s identity is comprised of their experiences, relationships, and beliefs/values. When an interruption or loss occurs in any of these areas, it shakes up one’s sense of self, self worth/confidence, and access to emotions of joy, calm, and love. I can support you in re-establishing a connection to self through self-discovery alongside processing the experiences of grief and trauma.

My specialties include working with childhood trauma, grief, couples counselling, estranged relationships and more.
Working through a trauma-informed lens, I use both a psychodynamic and humanistic approach with my clients. What I like to call "connecting the dots", I want to get an in-depth understanding of how your past experiences interrelate to your present ones. Specializing in childhood trauma, complex grief and couples counselling, I work with you and your nervous system to help reframe maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving you. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to explore and understand your counselling goals.

Major life transitions such as the loss of a loved one, relationship or job, navigating health issues, the aging process or a shifting identity can produce disorientation, loss of meaning, existential angst, and even a quarter/mid/end-of-life crisis.
Accepting new clients in Sept 2024. We’re spinning through this vast galaxy, having appeared on this planet out of nowhere, and destined to return to where we came from. What will you do with your time here? Let’s explore that. I work best with people asking some variation of the following questions: “What does it all mean? What am I doing with my life? Why is this happening to me? What the hell is going on? or Is this it? " -- all honest questions and great starting points for developing depth, meaning, and purpose in your life.

I draw on both my professional experiences (supporting clients with experiences of grief, trauma, intergenerational trauma, and marginalization), and my personal lived experiences (as a brown, queer, neurodivergent, second generation immigrant).
We all come from vastly unique life experiences and identities, and there is no “one size fits all” way to heal and grow. I take an eclectic approach to therapy that is guided by my clients' individual needs. My practice is influenced by relational, narrative, experiential, and existential modalities, which I have a keen interest in integrating with creative and somatic techniques. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that values warmth, curiosity, and collaboration. I work through the lens of an intersectional feminist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed framework that centers you as the expert of your own experiences.

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or ADHD? Do you often feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, and maybe lost? Many people find it challenging to get through the day, answer emails, texts, or calls, and feel disconnected from themselves and others. It's common to wonder if life should feel somehow better or brighter. Now more than ever, people are experiencing overwhelming and uncertain feelings about their relationships, careers, school, and finding their place in life, or working through a loss. These impacts run deep, often affecting our mind, body, spirit, and self-esteem.

Loss is lonely. The world around you continues on while yours has crumbled. You may put on a smile, but the pain feels heavy. It's hard to talk to family and friends about it. Your life has changed, and you aren’t sure how to pick up the pieces. Everyday tasks are challenging, and you feel very overwhelmed. Things feel out of control. Sound familiar? You aren’t alone. Grief can feel heavy and isolating, and can be activated by any loss or change. Whether you have lost a loved one, a relationship, a job, or experienced something that has impacted you profoundly, it would be an honor to walk alongside you during your healing journey.
