Are you struggling with anxiety or depression right now? Does making even a small decision seem overwhelming? Did you find the pandemic more difficult in ways that you never expected? You’re not alone. For many people, COVID-19 brought to surface old issues that they thought that they had resolved and new problems that they never could never have anticipated. Isolation. Job loss. Family conflict. Grief.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. There can be challenges from difficult relationships and break-ups to stress at work to adjusting to a change in you life (a new baby or the death of a loved one). You may feel stuck, not knowing which way to turn, or what to do next. It's important that you know that you don't have to go through this alone. You can manage these changes and find insight to your questions through therapy. At Vivian Therapy, our team of therapists will find ways to understand what's going on and develop skills to manage these challenges.

My life journey has carried me through hardships and challenges, including dictatorship, armed conflict, trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, fulfilling relationships, and separation from less fulfilling ones, immigration, and career changes.
If you are struggling and seeking support, you are not alone. Loss, trauma, conflict, life changes, and emotional and mental suffering do not discriminate. Any of us can go through difficult times—some more than others—but everyone has personal knowledge of suffering in their lives. Therapy is not easy, and there is no quick fix, but I am here to work with you, to hear and understand you, and to support your self-discovery process. I want to learn about your story, path, and beliefs, and together with you identify your strengths and explore areas where you might try new ways of being.

It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through a loss or life transition - it could be changing a pattern of behaviour that is keeping you stuck.

Our philosophy is simple: with the right support, anything is possible. Whether you are navigating the transition to motherhood, facing career changes, or simply seeking a better balance in life, we are here to listen and support you. It’s time for you to not just cope with life’s challenges, but to find joy and fulfillment as you relish sipping from a full cup.

If I did not share the wisdom I received from others it would be a loss.
I am not your expert - you are.  I am willing to co-create with you an atmosphere in which meaningful conversations can take place with a hope that we explore at least three things together: We can recapture some of your skills of living and knowledges of life and try to apply them to your present life circumstances. Part of the process is pure creation. I don’t not know what we may end up talking about. We have never met before. The very fact gives a chance to create ideas neither of us would be able to come up with on our own. Also I am willing to share with you my ideas coming from my both professional and personal experiences.

I work with adults in individual, emotion-focused, psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapy, dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, loss, relationships, life-change and others.
Some problems are exceedingly difficult to solve on our own. We become accustomed to our way of understanding ourselves and our issues, and it is difficult to take a novel perspective. One of the main goals of psychotherapy is to provide a different lens to look through, so that we can begin to think differently about ourselves and our problems. A different perspective can provide the space to begin a process of change.

Have you been wishing things felt different? Maybe you haven't felt understood or accepted in your friendships or relationships. Maybe you're going through a breakup, the death of a loved one, or job loss. Or maybe you've been struggling to feel happy, even when things seem to be going well. Do you want to better understand where your emotions are coming from, why they have such a hold on you, and how to feel better? Are you curious to explore your early childhood experiences that influenced how you learned to be in the world, and whether those adaptations are still working for you today?

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, stress/burnout, confidence issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and take a special focus in working alongside neurodivergent individuals and borderline personality disorder. I work from the position and understanding that life can be painful but we do not need to suffer. I view adversity as existing on a continuum, where pain is an unavoidable part of the human experience within the context of a persons life. Where healing takes time, and patience but it is worth the struggle, and effort to make the journey there for ourselves.
