I employ Western and Eastern modalities - CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT ( Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, Energy Psychology - Yoga, Reiki, Mindfulness and Meditation.
Providing a balance of support and challenge, my approach to healing is holistic and comprehensive. I believe that each individual has all of the inner resources they need to achieve a sense of balance and equanimity. My role is merely to provide a safe, non-judgmental container in which they can reach their own integration - cognitively, emotionally and somatically. I aim to assist the individual's journey-making process through offering new ways at looking through the lens which often gets obscured by many mitigating factors. Clarity is the goal.

I integrate other methods like DBT, Emotion-Focused, Compassion-Focused, and Mindfulness-based therapies.
Thank you for being here! I work with adults who may experience emotional and behavioural difficulties. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, OCD, depressive disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, racial trauma, grief and loss, and other relational problems. I also work with those who have experienced childhood trauma. In my work, I consistently and sincerely acknowledge the importance of the transgenerational impact of acculturation on our beliefs, worldviews, and sense of self. I genuinely believe that we are not broken, so we do not need "fixing;" instead, we work to be the self we want to be!

Since I began working in the mental health field in 2006, I have had clinical training in a number of settings including psychiatric hospitals, a private DBT clinic, community mental health agency, university counseling centre, career counseling agency, hospital oncology unit, and several private practices.
Being a psychologist, who is also a married father of two, I understand life is often a balance between acceptance and change. I believe being a male therapist can help in this field: I've experienced (for example) connecting with male clients and their unique challenges, and I've also experienced working with female clients who have been poorly or outright abusively treated by some of the men in their lives. Being a compassionate and supportive male in their presence is often quite healing for these clients.

I adopt an eclectic approach, using various evidenced-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy.
Hi all, welcome to my profile! As a Black woman who grew up in a low income family I'm incredibly passionate about ensuring marginalized populations are provided with inclusive and accessible mental health support. What makes me feel fulfilled is dismantling the barriers individuals experience that prevent them from accessing services. As a result, I use a sliding scale to reduce financial barriers and offer virtual morning, evening, weekend sessions to make counselling easier to fit into your schedule. I feel honoured to support you through your most difficult emotions and I will walk through them with you to brighter days.

RO DBT was created to support people with “over controlled coping”, and consists of practical skills to let go of rigid rules and beliefs, open our lives to novel experiences, and connect with others on a deeper level.
Offering DBT and Radically Open DBT! Are you always extremely organized? Do you put 110% into your work and set high personal standards? Good for you! These traits are often applauded by society, and those around us, however, research shows that “too much of a good thing” can lead to other problems such as chronic depression, anxiety, anorexia nervosa, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. If you are someone who is using self harm to cope, or experiencing suicidal thoughts and urges, I am here to support as well. I am passionate about supporting people with borderline personality disorder as it can be so misunderstood.

I am furthermore familiar with CBT and DBT, and use tools and strategies from both when relevant.
Hello and welcome! I am a practioner who is passionate about supporting folks in building a life that is meaningful and value-driven, in spite of whatever challenges are present. I value compassion, collaboration, and social justice, and I embody these by creating a warm, validating, and open space where we can be curious together. I fundamentally believe that every individual is the expert of their own experience, and I aspire to work and learn with and alongside you. I take a critical, anti-oppressive and intersectional stance to my work, as I believe that all of our struggles connect to larger social and structural realities.

My practice is embedded in a feminist, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework using elements of EMDR, IFS, DBT, psychodynamic and attachment-based psychotherapies.
Sometimes we have experiences in life that entirely overwhelm our ability to cope, that leave us feeling powerless, dejected and alone. It can feel frustrating, isolating and even unsafe trying to work through these experiences on your own. If you are struggling to understand and cope with the trauma you’ve lived through, I can help. I have extensive experience working with individuals to create change and reach resolution in their lives, particularly when it comes to experiences of trauma and abuse. My approach is compassionate, person-centred and non-judgmental and I hope to support you in making meaningful change.
