Do you have a difficult time looking at yourself with compassion and acceptance because the way you react, behave, and feel is wrong? Maybe it’s reacting with anger and defensiveness, or isolation and shutting down. Maybe it’s feeling like you are not smart enough. attractive enough, or simply not enough. Either way, you are left feeling ashamed of who you are. Imagine a life where you did not feel this way. You did not feel controlled by your emotions, you found joy in the ups and downs, and now look at yourself in a positive light. Beginning therapy is nerve-wracking, but I hope you take a moment (and a deep breath) to reach out.

I understand first-hand how depression and anxiety can seep into every part of our life and create layers of anger, shame and guilt.
I understand that vulnerability in therapy can be new and intimidating work for some of us. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental and comforting environment for those from various backgrounds. My primary focus is centred on supporting young adults struggling with transitional periods, anxiety/depression and individuals who may struggle with intergenerational trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

Anxiety, depression, work stress, break-ups, relationships, family, agoraphobia, fear, ADHD, anger management and emotional regulation are some areas we can explore together and learn how to adapt, grow and overcome barriers.
We're all in this together. We all need someone to talk to, to confide in. We are social beings and connection is a vital element of healthy living. We can talk. Perhaps the big questions in life ("Why am I here?", "What's the point?", "What now?") might be keeping you up at night, or perhaps stress with relationships, work, or family feels overwhelming. The world can be a lot sometimes, it can all feel overwhelming, but you are stronger than you realize. Together, we can grow, adapt and learn to navigate all of this. I offer both in-person and online-therapy and have some spots left.

Most of my clients are men (20s-40s) who are intelligent, self-reflective, and successful, but who still somehow feel that something’s missing, or that they haven’t "grown up" in some key way. They are often experiencing some combination of anxiety, shame, low self-esteem, anger, resentment, or relationship problems. I try to create a non-judgmental space for them to feel seen, heard and understood. It’s important for men to share their struggles, fears and shames with other caring and supportive men. This goes against a lot of our cultural conditioning but it helps us to feel that we’re not alone and that we’re actually okay.

Do you struggle with your emotions? Do you experience either intense emotions (e.g. guilt, sadness, anger) or suppressed emotions? Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) has been demonstrated to help regulate emotions. DBT can help calm emotional storms, increase enjoyable emotions and experiences, decrease unhelpful behaviours and coping strategies, and foster and improve positive relationships. Imagine what your life would be like if you had more balanced emotions, clear thinking even in challenging situations, and fulfilling relationships with others.

Our lives and all the intersecting parts can be too much to bear at times. Carrying around trauma, negative self-talk and heavy emotions is exhausting and impacts the mind/body. Having someone actively listen without blame, shame or judgment can be the life line needed when your struggling to cope, or just seeking balance and change.
