I have run men's groups for nearly 30 years helping men become more effective and loving husbands partners, fathers and sons as well as better stewards in their outside world. The aim of this Men's Group is to create a context where each man is able to be honest, vulnerable and feel safe enough to speak his previously undisclosed inner truth in the presence of other supportive men, and to feel and show emotions other than anger. A place where men can feel their deepest emotions - laugh and cry and restore a true brotherhood.

Does any of this sound familiar? You survived emotional neglect. You work hard and are independent. Sometimes, your drive has harmed relationships and partnerships. Perhaps your family members struggle with alcohol or addictions. You often feel isolated and "not enough", and could use help from a person who understands these challenges. If you are Neurodivergent, in Recovery; or considering gender transition, I have specific education + experience to support you (Rainbow Health Ontario provider). I am Autistic (AuDHD), adopted, ACE, trans and in a loving marriage. I work, volunteer and learn in Harm Reduction communities.

Life is full of contradictions: We can have close relationships yet still feel isolated, have the desire for change but feel attached to the past, and have the hunger to live creatively with the need for stability. As human beings, relationships are central to our lives. Painful patterns and repetitions can exist within our own internal relationship and with others. This can lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, or lowered self-esteem. My passion is to provide a safe, honest, inviting and collaborative therapeutic space to explore and work through these inner conflicts.

When I was 17 I began to have chest pains that were so sharp I couldn’t breathe. I went to the doctor thinking there was something wrong with me. His answer: "you’re just stressed". I had no idea why I was anxious, and nothing seemed to help. I began using addictions to cope with the anxiety, choosing the short-term relief despite the long-term consequences. Eventually those consequences forced me to seek help, and I began my recovery journey. That was eight years ago. Therapy has been life changing for me - I became more calm, happy and connected, and I began to wonder if this was something I could do for others as well.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. In my work with children we play, because for a child play is a way of making sense of his/her world and expressing what is of vital importance to them. The elements of play are clues that communicate what the child feels, what they hope for, and where the conflict is in their world that is troubling them. My work with adolescents leans more towards talk therapy. I engage with adolescent with the aim of helping them reflect on their own mind, the minds of others, helping them grasp what is stable during a time of shifting self image.

Starting therapy can be scary, but you won’t be doing it alone. Together we’ll think about your thinking, behaviours, and relationships, and wonder about the unconscious. We open things up in search of ourselves. When we feel comfortable in our own skin we are more open to possibility and vitality.

Dominant discourses impact our daily lives. They construct normative, 'tellable' stories, marginalizing and invalidating others. We are each the expert on our own life, with our own embodied ways of knowing. Sometimes disconnections between lived experiences and the meanings imposed on them become overwhelming. I invite and hold space for subjugated stories as a therapeutic form of resistance.

Most of us at some point in our lives need someone to talk to and someone to listen to us, someone that can provide us with a safe place to just be; a sanctuary that allows us to be with our feelings, to get in touch with our needs and our hearts. Whether it is relationship difficulties, job loss, illness, death of a loved one, addiction or mental health concerns that have brought you to my website; all these life transitions can tax our ability to cope in healthy ways leaving us stressed, sleepless and overwhelmed while the rest of our lives seemingly unravel.
