If you’re considering therapy it might feel like you have to have all the answers before you start, but your desire for change is enough. As a queer therapist, I'm dedicated to serving our 2SLGBTQ+ communities. I also have a passion for supporting healthcare providers, high-performance athletes, and members of the Muslim community. Therapy is a powerful tool that can help you navigate life's challenges. By exploring the interplay of comfort and discomfort, we create a space for transformation. Together, we'll work on amplifying your strengths, deepening your self-awareness, and challenging perspectives that may be holding you back.

Life is an ever-shifting sea, where the currents of growth and transformation carry us on a journey of self-discovery. At times, we may find ourselves adrift, uncertain of our shores and longing for a sense of direction. In these moments, therapy can be an anchor, grounding us and helping us navigate the vast ocean of possibilities. Just as a skilled mariner binds a knot that secures a sail, I believe that each person possesses the innate ability to thread together their own unique narrative of healing and transformation. Through the therapeutic process, we can mend the frayed edges of our being, with compassion and resilience.

I provide a compassionate, safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I work from a client-centred perspective, where we collaboratively work towards understanding your relational dynamics, processing your ingrained patterns and triggers, and ultimately expanding your level of awareness and consciousness by exploring meaning, purpose and joy in life. Modalities that I have found particularly effective are IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), which go beyond traditional notions of talk therapy, to access and promote your inherent capacity for self-compassion and healing.

Many people come to therapy to increase self-awareness, process painful emotions, resolve relational issues, shift narratives of fear or shame, or develop effective coping styles. My approach is grounded in empathy, warmth, and collaboration, and I hold the values of authenticity and inclusivity very close to my heart. I believe that a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is the essence of healing and growth in therapy. As such, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported to achieve your goals.

I believe it's always possible to reconnect with our strengths, joys, values, and desires, even in times when we feel stuck: when it's particularly hard to see the meaning in our lives, when feelings of regret outweigh feelings of acceptance, when shame and anxiety hold us back from engaging with ourselves and our loved ones. In my work with you, I want to point out those sacred parts of yourself that might have been forgotten. I want to help you see the different paths you can take, and be alongside you as you choose and move forward.

My treatment approach focuses on two areas to help you with your current difficulties. The first is a focus on identifying what I call your "backstory"- meaning the experiences you have had with people throughout your life. We all learn certain patterns of how to be with other people, and how to regard ourselves, from our "backstory." Sometimes these patterns interfere with our ability to lead mentally healthy and fulfilling lives.

I work with adults across the lifespan who are highly motivated to learn more about themselves, active participants in their recovery, and committed to making meaningful changes in their life. Whether they're struggling with a mental disorder, a significant life stressor, relationship difficulties, or challenges at work or home, my clients want to improve how they're coping, not let their struggles define them, and evolve into a better version of themselves.

I believe we are doing the best we can with the tools available. From my perspective, trauma can get locked in the body if there isn't enough safety to respond in the moment. I will support you in building on the wisdom you already have, and will creatively explore with you the places you feel stuck, shaky, or unmet. Through a relational and experiential process, I will bring attention and compassion to your suffering and untended needs. You can expect me to be warm, direct, steady, and responsive. Additionally, I am Queer & Trans affirming, kink-aware, and knowledgeable around polyamory/non monogamy.

How do you find hope? You're an intelligent, caring, and hardworking individual. Your capacity to persevere through tough times shows your incredible resilience and determination to shape the life you envision. But right now, the challenges you're grappling with have left you questioning everything. It's completely normal to feel hesitant and overwhelmed about turning your focus inward.

I have experience working with both neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals supporting them with a variety of issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders and high risk behaviours. I have been the therapist in a live-in treatment setting for dual-diagnosed youth identified as “complex care” and a therapist in both day treatment classrooms and community-based settings. Most recently, I co-developed an autism mental health counselling program at a community mental health organization in Toronto, providing neurodiversity-affirming treatment to children and youth with mental health

Each of us has a unique story to tell. That story captures the who, what, where, when, and why of our formative experiences and begins early on, when we are the most vulnerable. Many of us have learned to bottle it up. This “bottleneck” hardly leaves us feeling secure within ourselves or recognized by others. At some juncture, you may have rightfully tried speaking your truth to someone “safe.” But, instead of receiving empathy and compassion, you were ignored, belittled, pitied. Ultimately, the feeling of being heard, understood and accepted is crucial for overall wellbeing. It paves the way for a life full of meaning and purpose.

I work with adults who are seeking to experience more authenticity within relationships and work towards living more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Perhaps there are emotional wounds from the past that are keeping you stuck, or the reality of living in the modern world is overwhelming, leaving little room for connecting with yourself. My practice is rooted in the belief that within every person exists a wellspring — a source of wisdom, creativity, and innate capacity for healing. I strive to embody an empathic, grounded presence that creates a healing space for my clients to pause and reconnect to their own inner wisdom.
