I'm skilled in supporting clients struggling with high-stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, low-self-esteem, anger management, trauma, toxic relationship patterns, dating issues, relationship repair, and divorce.
You handle a LOT in your life, but it's starting to take its toll on your mental wellbeing. I can help you navigate this concern, while improving your relationship with yourself and with others (i.e. romantic, professional, etc). Maybe your mental wellbeing is getting in the way of what's important to you. Maybe the demands of your life are impacting your mental health! Either way, I can help. I'm best known for supporting strong independent women who want more out of life or know that something has to change.

Let's work together to better understand and manage a wide range of emotions, improve communication skills, manage conflict, develop skills to manage anger, stress, anxiety and depression, cope with trauma and journey through grief.
Taking care of our mental health is more important than ever. Therapy allows you to comfortably share the thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationship issues that are most troubling in your life. Therapy is a collaborative process, where clients are the experts in their own lives. Together, we will develop an understanding of who you are and the core aspects of what has brought you to therapy. We then will work on building on the strengths you already have and learn further strategies to put you forward in the life you want to lead.

New parenthood is such a tender time for couples. Whether you are trying to start a family, are a first time parent or a parent now managing more than one young child, you can find yourself depleted, overwhelmed, and experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions along with guilt at how that might be impacting your children. If you are managing a new baby with other young children, you may find that your older children are acting out at a time when you are sleep deprived and struggling to stay patient. Perhaps you and your partner hardly have time to connect and you feel distance or disconnected.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental, client centered therapeutic space for individuals and couples. I believe that a journey towards healing requires empathy, encouragement and supportive facilitation as we often haven't had the opportunity to learn ways to cope with traumatic experiences and life related stressors. This can result in dysregulation and feelings of anxiety, depression and overwhelm in our day to day lives and relationships. Let's work together to explore and address your concerns in an open minded, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, sex/body positive, LGBTQ+ inclusive space.

I work with individuals who want to resolve their past trauma. These traumas may come from childhood or from other traumatic events that can take place in adulthood. They are seeking better self understanding and most of all healing. Many of my client's have tried various forms of talk therapy and want to try something different as they have not yet identified the root cause of their difficulties or only noticed marginal change. The unresolved trauma may be contributing to ongoing relationship problems, anxiety, depression, self esteem concerns, or complex/post traumatic stress.
I work with individuals who want to resolve their past trauma. These traumas may come from childhood or from other traumatic events that can take place in adulthood. They are seeking better self understanding and most of all healing. I believe that successful therapy starts with a strong therapeutic relationship between myself and my client and I am honoured that you would consider inviting me to support you. I will provide a non-judgemental experience, focusing on the goals you wish to attain.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
