I use modalities like internal family systems, emotion-focused therapy and focusing, which promote mind-body and right-left brain integration.
I help second-gen immigrants who keep themselves small, invisible and compliant to live unapologetically and authentically so that they can thrive in their most cherished relationships. As a child of immigrant parents, you likely straddle two cultures with opposing values. In Asian cultures like mine, you're expected to sacrifice yourself for the good of others, and in Canadian culture, you're expected to be assertive. There's a way to live so that you're respecting your family and culture, and being true to yourself. I help you to own your needs and desires, set healthy boundaries, and be genuinely happy in your relationships.

Therapy is unique to each individual, and I value your strengths through a narrative approach to highlight the importance of who you are! I specialize in trauma, grief, depression, stress, anxiety, and life transitions while incorporating various modalities of therapy, such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and psychodynamic approaches.
The experiences and challenges we go through in life do not define us but, instead, shape us into the individuals we are today. These experiences help us flourish and grow in ways we could not imagine ourselves. This is a philosophy that I hold in great regard when it comes to my practice and work with clients. I recognize that therapy can be intimidating to some. However, I am passionate about creating a space where we can come together and work through whatever you’re going through, no matter what it may look like.

Throughout life's journey we all face challenges of some sort. We all have our own stories and experiences that contribute to who we are and how we face adversity. When those difficulties feel like they are too overwhelming to manage, its OK to reach out for help. Whether you are feeling like life is too much, dealing with addictions issues, or are challenged with a diagnosis of a mental illness. Every person that I have the honour of traveling with on their journey has the ability to face the struggles ahead of them.

Managing our relationships, work, school, and life changes can feel overwhelming. You may be overthinking about friends, jobs and relationships, or having a difficult time developing and maintaining positive relationships with family, friends, or partners. While these challenges pile up, anxiety, anger, and sadness can start to cloud our thinking making it hard to tackle what we're experiencing on our own. Therapy can help us cope with what we're are going through, while also helping us learn more about ourselves along the way and regain control over parts of our life we felt we lost.

Family Systems Counsellors
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
