Therapy is a place where you can come as you are. I like to think of therapy as a conversation. Think about that for a second. You have conversations daily with friends, and family members. Therapy is just an extension of that conversation. You can vent with friends, and with family, but a conversation with a therapist allows you to become unstuck from the cycle you may be in where you are venting, but not actually making any progress. Therapy really is for everyone. Whether you have long standing concerns, are in a crisis, or need to work through a problem right now, we are here to help.

Anxiety/Stress/People-Pleasing/Perfectionism/Self-Esteem- You feel exhausted most of the time and can't seem to get any work done. You have trouble relaxing because your mind is constantly racing with stress and worries. It is hard to "shut off" and your body is feeling the effects of prolonged stress. Your never ending to-do list just keeps getting bigger and you feel overwhelmed by life in general. If these statements resonate with you, you might be struggling with chronic stress and anxiety. Possibly even dealing with poor work-life balance and are on the brink of burnout. You've come to the right place to get back on track!

Therapy shouldn't feel like a chore. While it might sometimes be hard to hear what is discussed in therapy, overall you should leave feeling like you've gained something useful or even transformative. Over time, you should feel you are getting stronger, more resilient and have shed layers of fear and anxiety. Of course this process can be overwhelming at times and you might not always progress on the timeframe that you thought you would, but when therapy goes well, you should feel more settled and more clear about your life. You should gain understanding about yourself and others and have a renewed sense of purpose and passion

Have you been feeling stuck and unable to change how you feel or act? Most likely you have been effected by experiences from your past. Consciously you may understand the value of changing a behaviour, but unless your deeper mind is transformed, change is not likely. Attempting to bring about enduring change without eliminating these "ghosts from the past" is like trying to repair the structure of a building by applying a coat of paint. Using a gentle, painless, and fun approach to therapy, I create immediate and lasting change through brain-changing conversations, teaching you how to stress-proof and play your brain for change.

I'm really drawn to people who truly know themselves and aren't afraid to seek a little extra support when they need it. It's not just about going through the motions; it's about diving into therapy with enthusiasm and working together to make real progress. Essentially, it's about being present, embracing growth, and facing the journey with an open heart.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
