When life’s challenges feel overwhelming, sometimes the support of a professional who can deeply listen and offer astute guidance and insight can make all the difference. I believe in a holistic approach to counselling and educate clients on the importance of integrating their mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. My specialty is working with clients who are in their late teens, 20s, 30s and 40s as they navigate various difficulties and transitions in their lives. Depending on what the client deems helpful, I incorporate tools such as Energy Healing, the Enneagram, Meditation, Internal Family Systems, and Inner Child Work.

Accepting new clients; online booking available! - Perhaps you're asking yourself the question, "can things be better than how they are now?" My resounding answer is yes! In fact, the pain you may be feeling, the sadness or anger, are signals that something is not right, and when we can connect with that, those feelings become the starting point for healing and transformation. We do not have to live as things are, there is a hope for something better; and we all need help getting there. I hope for the opportunity to step into your difficulties, and together embark on change to discover the hope we all can have.

Personal crises led me to this path, where I had to unlearn societal conditioning and reinterpret my understanding of spirituality.
It takes courage to ask for help! If you’ve been grappling with depression, anxiety, loneliness, or a sense of emptiness, know that our modern world often makes it difficult to understand what it truly means to be human. We can feel overwhelmed by relationship challenges, moral dilemmas, and a lack of meaning. Many of my clients, including couples, seek to explore life’s deeper questions. I offer a neutral, receptive space where you can safely explore your consciousness and the felt sense in your body through a trauma-informed, whole-person approach. Trauma’s impact is immense—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

It is with great honour and respect that I guide people out of the maze of confusion, emotional distress and dissatisfaction towards a life with freedom of choice, joy and a state of well-being. It can take a lot of courage to admit that the resources and skills you have traditionally used to solve your problems are not sufficient in your current circumstances. To quote Albert Einstein, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." I commend you for taking the first step into seeking support and guidance for yourself.

"I believe one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your own story." I have dedicated my life to build a practice where people can come to a place of peace, where you feel comfortable and safe to unburden yourself about the most intimate and personal aspects of your life without the fear of being judged or shamed. This process allows you to shed the layers that keep you going in the same cycles and help you start a new and more fulfilling chapter in your life. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe a deep breath) to call and see how I can help.

From a young age, I was always interested in the why of things. Whenever I was told that, "things could be worse", I was never satisfied and always remember thinking that there must be a better or different way of handling things. In my life, I have encountered many challenging times and tried to handle things the best I could. As a result, I decided to do my own work and in turn was inspired to help others. Today, I am fortunate enough to do the work I do and am passionate about helping others to make changes in their lives.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
