I use an integrated practice (from IFS, Narrative, Play/Art-based, EFFT, Mindfulness, DDP and Theraplay) grounded in an attachment-based framework.
Growing up is not always easy and it can often feel overwhelming. One of the hardest parts of being a parent is seeing your child struggle. I can help you sail through the storm. I am a bilingual Registered Social Worker experienced in working with children, adolescents and families. Whether it is a problem with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, parenting challenges, traumatic life events, issues with family transitions, adjustment to school, or peer relationships, you don't have to do it alone.

I have experience and training with various types of therapies including attachment-based interventions, play-based interventions, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, and have a passion for mom & baby well-being.
I work with children in their early years (infants, toddlers, pre-K) up to children of 12 years, as well as adults. What people feel they need from therapy can be very different depending on the challenges. Whether it's anxiety, coping with trauma, adjusting to a significant life transition, navigating behavioural challenges with your child or something more, I'm interested in creating a safe space where you feel seen, heard, believed and understood. I am deeply moved by the hope that therapy may lead to a deeper connection to who you really are and help to forge a path to where you really want to be.

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based perspective that draws on the impact of past trauma.
If you find yourself thinking 'my partner doesn't care', 'I do so much but it's never enough', or 'I just can't get it right', then I can help. I provide targeted therapy to couples struggling with challenges such as infidelity, emotional distance, neurodivergence, not feeling like a priority, difficulties communicating, anger, and intimacy challenges. Perhaps conflict is more frequent and you find yourselves getting caught in the same cycle over and again. Nothing seems to help and you are considering separation. I have helped countless straight and same sex couples heal from the pain and rebuild meaningful intimacy and connection.

Are you struggling in your relationships with others? Relationships are complex and could be complicated. Yet, as human beings, we need others, and when there are challenges in our relationships we suffer and struggle. We all need to be loved and cared for, yet we often push away the very people we want to be close to. Rejection or the fear of it, could be so painful and makes us withdraw, isolate or hurt back. As a result, we may feel inadequate, unlovable, unworthy, and hopeless. Deep down, we want to feel connected, and we want to feel good about ourselves, and at peace.

I work from a client-centred, attachment-based lens and I have training in ACT, CBT, EMDR, polyvagal theory, self-compassion therapy and mindfulness.
Our Cambridge office is open for in-person therapy. I support clients who'd like to feel more secure and intentional in navigating relationships. Do you have a pattern of people-pleasing, overworking and feeling burnt out? If so, let's explore the attachment patterns and past experiences which shape how you think, feel and act. We can then develop cognitive and body-based strategies help to build a foundation of self-trust and "home" in your body when facing intense feelings, emotions and thoughts. This, along with setting boundaries, communicating assertively and increasing self-compassion, can help you to meet your own needs.

Sometimes, life experiences have a significant impact on our ability to embrace the present moment. As a result, we engage with our current circumstances trying to defend and protect ourselves from past wounds. Yet, we long for more. More acceptance, more motivation, more healing. Maybe you've realized, "this is not working. Something needs to change and I need to figure it out." You have reached the point when you're no longer satisfied with wondering how things will work out. You want to see tangible change happen.

I aim to work with you collaboratively to enable individuals to solve their social/emotional concerns. Over the years I’ve supported individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, stress management, coping skills, self harming behaviours, relationship issues and parent teen conflict. I understand stressors of life and how they may have an impact on individuals. Thus I seek to help individuals locate themselves in their daily situations, reflect and influence positive change.

You're not feeling like yourself. Even though you put on a brave face, you question if anyone truly sees, hears, or understands you. In your most honest moments, you recognize that these feelings have been present for a while. Someone close to you— maybe a friend, family member, or even your partner— has suggested you might need some support. You've searched your symptoms online, yet you still feel uncertain about what you're experiencing. You've even attempted therapy before, but it felt like it barely scratched the surface. You're looking for something deeper, but don't know where to start. You're not alone in this experience.

Do you you wish you were more easy going and confident? Would it be nice to be able to stand up for yourself more readily, or not second-guess yourself all time. Do you sometimes feel like you do not belong or that there is something wrong with you. Stressful experiences leave a deep imprint on our minds, bodies and even relationships. The effects of these can only be reversed in the context of a trusting relationship. Using attachment science, we’ll uncover patterns affecting your life, work through difficult emotions, and come to new understandings.

Attachment-based Counsellors

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
