When overwhelming emotions limit the pursuit of our responsibilities or passions in life there are effective strategies that can help regulate and minimize the emotional storms as well as provide the resilience needed to thrive in your life despite those storms. Life can be very difficult, unlike physical pain that is usually hard to ignore therefore treatment is sought after, emotional pain is unfortunately often ignored hoping it goes away. Anger, stress, anxiety, low moods, loss and relationship upheavals are all issues that can be better worked through with professional support through those storms. My name is Tim Kahtava, I

It's not just you, life HAS gotten harder in the last few years. If you've been powering through, staying strong and carrying on, but now you're barely getting by and you're tired of feeling like you're not really living your life, it might be time for outside support. The benefit of therapy is that it's a time where you get to focus on yourself, to look at your life, and to get an outside perspective on how it could be different. You don't have to just endure, with the right support, you can heal from the past, and move forward towards a better future.

Have you ever felt utterly alone, anxious, and disconnected? I too felt unsure, overwhelmed, and had trouble coping with life’s curve balls. My journey involved learning to lean into discomfort, to be open and vulnerable, and that one wrong turn does not mean the end. By opening up my authentic self to others and to myself, I learned that I am enough. I believe success in therapy is achieved by using an individualized approach that celebrates the qualities that bring us together as well as those that make us unique. We all face our own battles, but we do not have to go it alone.

Anxiety/Stress/People-Pleasing/Perfectionism- You feel exhausted most of the time and can't seem to get any work done. You have trouble relaxing because your mind is constantly racing with stress and worries. It is hard to "shut off" and your body is feeling the effects of prolonged stress. Your never ending to-do list just keeps getting bigger and you feel overwhelmed by life in general. If these statements resonate with you, you might be struggling with chronic stress and anxiety. Possibly even dealing with poor work-life balance and are on the brink of burnout. You've come to the right place to get back on track!

While certainly open to journeying with any and all who may arrive at my door, I love helping create marriages and relationships that are enjoyed rather than endured. I love helping folks through the complexities of PTSD and Trauma; especially those having dedicated their own lives to serving others (Military, First Responders, Medical Personnel, Pastors, and other Therapists). I also have a strong desire to help men overcome the various stigmas surrounding their own reaching out for help in order to help reduce the number of those continuing to fall victim to suicide and self-harm.

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and unable to handle all that life has thrown your way we can work together to understand why and develop strategies that can help. I have a particular interest in helping support individauls during difficult life transitions, separation/divorce, parenting, career changes, etc. I bring an open and curious stance to therapy and take a client-centred approach which means you have a lot of the answers, they may just be buried under protective defenses like anxiety, depression, overachieving and substance abuse that are working hard to help you cope with painful emotions and issues of self-worth.

I have experience in polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation work, parts work, family systems, attachment, cPTSD, destructive relationships, codependency, anixety and depression.
No one escapes life’s challenges and they can leave you feeling stuck. Having a safe space to land and process our experiences is something I am honoured to get to do with you. I like to think of myself as a guide; supporting you along your journey but empowering you to have the tools, strategies and skills to one day make it on your own. Embarking on a healing journey can feel overwhelming and alone, but we are here so you do not have to walk that road alone. A study by Gabor Mate revealed that trauma without validation or a compassionate witness goes unprocessed, and that is what Danielle offers in the counselling room.

Hi, I’m Éva. My approach to therapy is relational, systemic, and strength-based. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and am informed by Family Systems Theory. I hold an empathic and non-judgmental stance. I work collaboratively and relationally, recognizing that you are the expert of your unique story. I believe our relationships with ourselves, partners, family, and friends can often be the source of our greatest joys and deepest pains and frustrations – I’ve been there. Through my own growth journey, I've learned that our families, environments, and societal contexts have a real impact on us.

I have a certificate in trauma-informed CBT, CA-CBT, Levels 1 & 2 in EMDR, Training in EFT, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP II), Prepare-Enrich, and have utilized other modalities such as Bowenian Family Systems Therapy, Existential Therapy, and DBT in an integrative way.
Establishing an environment where clients feel safe to share their story is of paramount importance. My approach to therapy is from a trauma-informed lens, a person-centered approach, and by utilizing evidence based modalities. I have experience journeying with clients from diverse backgrounds and with those who have experienced trauma, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and with patients and their families in an in-patient setting. I am an integrationist, because I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all approach.

My training in Family Systems Theory helps me to view each person’s concerns within their larger context.
There are times when we just need someone to connect with who can help us find relief from the weight of life's struggles. If you're dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts in the past or present, sexuality, self-esteem, or stress, I may be a good fit for you.

Addiction is a problem experienced by the entire family and is best managed with a family systems approach.
Addiction Management is a complex and gut-wrenching process, especially at the front-end. People often find themselves stuck with the problem and are confused about how to move forward. Assisting families and loved ones in understanding the true depth, pattern and extent of the problem helps to inform decisions on appropriate options moving forward. Making informed decisions at the right time not only saves money, it establishes reasonable expectations and creates the conditions for successful outcomes for the entire family system.

Family Systems Counsellors
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
