Are you seeking support for concerns that have built up anxiety and depression in you? Or are you having trouble controlling your anger because of underlying trauma? You can be the one looking for guidance in interpersonal/familial conflicts. Being a South Asian immigrant mother of teens and a toddler with experience of living in different cultural norms, I understand the struggle to accept and process certain issues that can be truly overwhelming. As a therapist, I offer you a safe and secure space within the comfort of your surrounding environment where you can process what is bringing you down and help bring calmness and clarity

Are you quick to anger and can’t understand why? Tired of constantly hurting your loved ones? For men, anger is the most socially accepted emotion to express, but when you feel out of control and it’s too big or out of place, it comes with consequences, both external and internal. However, this anger is trying to tell you something, to alert you to important needs being ignored, shamed or suppressed. Many of us have learned to approach relationships in a way that leads to resentment, jealousy, hatred, fear or shame. Through greater access you can shift old patterns and evolve into a more genuine fulfilled version of yourself.

I have training/experience in couples therapy, trauma, substance use, anger management, EFT and Gestalt Therapy.
Are you facing a life transition and need help managing stress, uncertainty, and conflicts? Life's journey is full of transitions, some smooth and others challenging. Change, even when it's planned and exciting, adds new stress which can bring up old wounds and unhealthy relationship patterns. As a psychotherapist with lots of life experience, I provide support through career changes, relocation, divorce, parenting milestones, illness, or personal growth challenges. I work with individuals and couples navigating frequent arguments or different communication styles. It's possible to emerge from this with confidence and resilience.

Society tells us what will make us happy, and who we are. You have in you to avoid these traps, my role is not to lead you but instead , to walk with you as you throw off the ropes holding you back from dreaming, exploring and discovering your identity and passions. At the end of our journey together, I want you to be in a better place than when we met. I was an English kid in Montreal, who, in a hockey town, spent all his time training and competing in the martial arts. Its not a surprise I was socially awkward, bullied, with self-esteem and anger issues. Luckily, I found a therapist to help me;

Not every therapist is incredible working with every issue, at least I am not. I have found that helping people with Anxiety, Trauma, Anger /Conflict Management and Relationship stress (separation, conflict, social anxiety) are the areas where my Clients report the biggest impact and improvement. If you struggle with Anxiety, being stuck in hyper-vigilance, if you have an anxious or avoidant attachment style, I hope that our work together could provide you with the Tools and Skills to see real change in your day to day life.

June is Men's Mental Health month, and to give back for the month of June, I am offering new clients there first session for $20. After a decade of being a Social Worker, I have witnessed the difficulty that men face; the difficulty of fear, pain, confusion, and anger. These difficulties interfere with mens full potential of becoming powerful, disciplined, and masterful in their passions. The difficulties that men face are unfortunately ignored, and the answer to resolve them is to be more vulnerable. This leaves little direction to work towards the ability to overcome what stands in your way.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
