Hello, thank you for reading my profile. My passion is to help you feel more fulfilled, empowered, and present in your life. Life is hard, trauma is real, and inequality is systemic. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to feel how you feel, as you come to better understand your thoughts, experiences, and relationships. I believe we each possess unique inner strengths and resources to help us move through life and get out of our heads (and into the moment). My personal and ongoing experience with grief allows me to meet you 'where you are', at your own pace, as we co-develop strategies that work for you.

I work with youth and adults who are struggling with cumulative stress, anxiety, or trauma and want to develop a sense of emotional stability and well-being; they're looking for a therapist who can be authentic. Going beyond traditional talk therapy, I use somatic (body-based) psychotherapy in healing trauma, including developmental trauma - childhood abuse, neglect, or caregiver misattunement. Somatic therapy is a gentle, experiential approach that integrates awareness of body sensations to allow the body, mind and emotions to heal from trauma, so you can feel more connected and engaged in your life.

Angry much? Are you and your partner arguing more than ever? Is someone threatening to leave if you don’t change your angry ways? Perhaps your anger even surprises YOU at times. If any of this sounds familiar, let’s talk! Whether you feel alone in your anger - or worry you’ll end-up alone if you don’t ‘do something’ about it - this can be a pretty painful place to be. If you’ve got the energy and desire to get to know yourself a little better, and have the interest to explore your inner 'landscape' more thoroughly, then I encourage you to book a free consult so we can chat more about what’s happening and what may be possible!

A first step in challenging our shame and struggle with self-acceptance can be to take the risk of allowing someone to witness our vulnerability. A counsellor can act as this witness, holding compassion in a safe and non-judgmental space. My counselling style is guided by the principle that we inherently have the inner resources to meet life’s challenges from a place of empowerment. I work from feminist, narrative, anti-oppression, and person-centered frameworks.

Much like other relationships, experience of therapy is co-created by the client and the therapist. I see the job of the therapist as providing a safe environment where the client has the time and space to make sense of their life experiences and maintain a sense of self as worthy of acceptance, kindness, and care.

Parenting is difficult at the best of times. Add in the complexities of supporting a child or teen who is struggling and parenting becomes even more challenging. It can be hard to know where to turn to get support for you, your child or teen, and your whole family. I am here to help. I have worked in children's mental health for 18 years supporting children and youth with mental health and behavioural difficulties and their families. Together we can develop a plan to support your loved one. I will teach you the skills you need along the way.

Please note: Not currently accepting new clients. I support clients who struggle with unfulfillment and disconnection as they navigate life & relationships, due to the influences of marginalization & systemic oppression. I help you work towards self-acceptance & becoming firm and secure in who you are: your identities & authentic self-expression, so you can build relationships which honour these things. Whatever your particular circumstance is, you are taking the bold steps to be supported along this journey. I am here to walk alongside you and support you through this inherently vulnerable, seldom linear process.

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression and low mood as well as perfectionism & negative self-talk. I have significant experience in as well as a particular passion for working with post-secondary students. From my experience working at various Colleges and Universities, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges, stressors, and unseen mental toll being a student can take. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are curious about the impact of their childhood on their current-day suffering & are motivated to not only make changes to ease suffering, but to also find more joy in their life.

Now offering EMDR. Trauma can shake the way you interact with yourself, your loved ones and the world at large. I want to work with you to reconnect with yourself again. To feel safe enough to not just survive but to live. People living with trauma can carry a lot of shame and it can be difficult to talk about the things that you are facing. Therefore my goal as your therapist is to create a warm space for you to heal. In my work I embrace your natural gifts and incorporate creative forms of expression that come naturally to you into our therapeutic work.

You may not yet know what you are looking for. All you know is that you want something to change. Or, you know exactly what you are looking for, what specifically you want to change, and this is why you are seeking someone like me. Either place is a great place to start. My job is to support you to envision the life you long for that you are not yet living, and to support you to take the steps to create it. You can do this. Along the journey, it is helpful to have a guide and a map. This is where I come in. I can provide both.

Accepting New Clients. 'Everything, all at once, everywhere' and 'it's like a salad bar,' are two of my favorite phrases about ADH(D) and Autism. The first captures the sometimes chaotic, sometimes invigorating nature of ADH(D). The second, captures the vast diversity of the Autistic experience. Being an ADH(D)er, Autistic person, or both, AuDH(D)er, brings many strengths, and due to living in a world not designed for our brains, many challenges. Perhaps you keep burning out in a boom/bust cycle. Perhaps you blame yourself for struggling to do things the way you "should." Perhaps the demands of work, school or home are overwhelming.
