I find myself drawn to working with younger people who struggle with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, ADHD, Autism, and BPD.
I want to meet you where you are and work with you to help you find who you want to be. I like to be lighthearted and use humor in my practice. I also call myself a Gen Z therapist. My educational background of an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies has profoundly shaped my perspective and provided me with an intersectional feminist lens to work with a diverse group of people.

I specialize in ADHD & Autism Lvl. 1 and also have experience working with social & general anxiety, trauma, depression, suicidal feelings, substance abuse, video game addiction, stress, and relationship concerns (family, romantic, and friendships). Working with neurodivergent kids, adults, couples, & families is very important to me because I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and struggled a lot without proper support. I get how frustrating navigating the mental health and education systems can be and want to support others in learning to harness their amazing abilities and make lasting positive change.

ADHD can present a diverse range of gifts and struggles that make it challenging to cope in a neurotypical world.
In our sessions I will create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where we can explore together the reasons that bring you to therapy. I want you to feel safe and comfortable in our sessions. I will help you learn new tools to build your resilience, address the difficult things, and support you as you grow. In my private practice I aim to empower clients to confront persistent problems in their lives and encourage lasting change. My approach is grounded in self-compassion and empathetic listening. I am inspired by my clients' resilience and I would be honoured to be a part of your journey.

My heart is for those who are overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck, struggling, and disconnected. Your story has made you who you are, but it doesn’t have to define your future. I believe you are the expert on your experience and my role is to help you find yourself again. During my years working with survivors of intimate partner violence, I developed a passion for supporting people through their personal journey of growth and healing. As a mother of four teens and young adults with ADHD and ASD, I am dedicated to helping individuals and families understand neurodiversity and learn to flourish.

You're smart, successful, driven - but you're stuck. On the outside nobody would guess it, but on the inside you feel torn apart. Your anxiety is relentless, your inner critic berates your every word, you can never get caught up on your to-do list, and no matter how much praise you get - you simply don't believe it. You wonder if you have anxiety, or maybe it's ADHD, or maybe even depression or past trauma. You definitely know you can't relax, it's hard to even stay still. You've read the self-help books, tried meditation, mental health walks, journaling...You know at the core you need to "love yourself", but truly don't know how

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
