It can be a moving experience, to be truly heard and understood. These days, with all of life's distractions, sitting with someone for an hour, who is actively listening and interested in what you have to say can take getting used to! With therapy, we begin with where you are today. I meet you where you are at and we work together on what you need to feel better in your inner and outer world. I support folks who are struggling with grief, anxiety, depression, anger, codependency, relationship issues, sexuality, trauma, or spirituality. I am here to offer acceptance, curiosity, and a new perspective on what feels stuck in your life.

Navigating the complexities of identity crisis, childhood trauma, interpersonal challenges, relationship with parents, low self-confidence, and self-esteem requires courage. These complexities might be affecting your interpersonal relationships as well, leaving you feeling disconnected or struggling to communicate effectively with your partner. Feeling unseen and unheard can be isolating; making it hard to ask for help as you might feel not good enough. However, together, we can navigate life's challenges with compassion, discover healing, and find resiliency in your journey toward growth and connection.

One million Canadian men suffer from major depressive disorder each year. Three of every four completed suicides in Canada are by men. The prevalence of alcohol use disorder is twice as high in men with another mental health diagnosis than in the general population. One third of Canadian men worry that talking about mental health at work could put their job at risk. Men are just as likely as women to have mental health issues yet are far less likely to utilize traditional mental health services. Men are more likely to believe that mental health services are difficult to access, ineffective and invasive. At Cogent, Ontario’s new mental health clinic focussed solely on supporting men, we’re changing that.
