I’ve mainly worked with first responders suffering from high , anxiety and PTSD, adults and children with ADHD, autism and adults with low mood and sleep disturbances.
Hello! My name is Holly, I've been a registered nurse for 23 years and I run a neurofeedback center called Nature’s Path healing center where we believe in holistic healing to end suffering. In today’s fast paced and unpredictable world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and “stuck” in patterns of thinking and behaving that hinder healthy mindsets. It is not unexpected that people are feeling more mentally and physically burnt out and unsure how to move forward to feel more balanced. Neurofeedback supports the brain in developing greater resiliency and flexibility and in general, the mind and body’s capacity for healing.

Are you coming to therapy with questions about your identity, trauma, taking up space, doubt, or how to navigate change or difficult relationship dynamics? Do you feel like you might be the only person who has ever felt this way? Or like anxiety has been keeping you from accessing the support you deserve? As a queer person who has benefited greatly from my own therapy, I know how important it is to have a nonjudgmental space where I can show up as my whole and authentic self and have my grief, loss, and doubts witnessed and validated. I would be honoured to create that space with you.

You’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed and it causes you to overthink, "doom scroll", or lash out at others. The mere thought of work; seeing that person, or having that conversation seems too unbearable. When you get up the courage to do the ‘thing’, it feels like it never works out, leaving you feeling misunderstood, discouraged and stuck. You’re often told that you are “too much”. Over time, you’ve come to believe it, resent it and blame yourself. You spend so much time trying to be a version of yourself that is acceptable to others that at the end of the day you’re exhausted. And now you realize that it's time to make a change.

Hey there - As a therapy survivor myself, I know that it is often hard to reach out. I want to encourage you that I can relate, and also know that the first step to change comes with taking a courageous leap to work on your own goals! I am incredibly passionate about my role as a Registered Psychotherapist (with the CRPO). Life has had its share of ups and downs for me, which I believe have helped me understand my clients in a deeper level. I find a lot of joy out of those 'ah-ha' moments, when a client breaks free from what is holding them back, or finds healing on their journey. It's truly an honour to walk with every client!

Trauma can profoundly impact our well-being, leaving us feeling disconnected and alone. It can create extreme psychological stress in our daily interactions with others, impeding our quality of life. Trauma does not have to be one significant event. It can be a series of relational or attachment wounds experienced in childhood, leading to self-esteem issues, problems asserting boundaries and people-pleasing behaviours. If you struggle to feel safe, know that you are not alone. I aim to create a warm and welcoming environment where we can re-establish your sense of connection and trust in others.

Lately, have you been feeling less and less like the person you once were? You feel disconnected from the life that used to bring you joy and satisfaction. Perhaps you’ve experienced a dramatic life event or transition that has brought about this change? You’ve moved, ended school, started a new job, or begun a new relationship. Maybe it is more related to the loss of something or someone in your life. Possibly the change has been more subtle and unexplainable, and you just don’t feel like yourself anymore. I can help. I understand that life can throw us curveballs that we are rarely ready for.

ADHD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
