I work with clients needing support with Relationship Issues, Betrayal Trauma and PTSD, Attachment and Childhood Trauma, Narcissistic Abuse, and Prenatal and Postpartum Mental Health.
Are you looking to improve communication and resolve the differences in your relationships? Do you feel that your partner is emotionally distant and that is making you anxious? Do you feel like your home is not the safest place for you emotionally and mentally due to the stress? It is easy for us to be caught in a negative cycle and periods of distress and low mood? Sometimes you may need someone to talk outside of your circle, because either other people may not get it or want an unbiased view. If you are looking to work on your relationship, past or ongoing trauma, and constant low mood, I can help.

Separation & divorce is not something you considered when you and your partner were planning your lives together. Unfortunately divorce is common and is an incredibly painful process which you can't typically prepare for. It can generate intense emotions such as anger, confusion, betrayal, loneliness, & hopelessness. Even if you know it's the right decision, you will likely be experiencing grief over what you had hoped your relationship would be. Co-parenting is another level to manage. This process can make you question who you are, and what your life will look like moving forward.

Are you tired of sleeping on the couch? Fed up with all the arguing? Feeling dismissed and lack of connection? Are you questioning whether you are wanting something from your relationship that isn't realistic? What is it that you do want? To be heard, taken serious, being able to argue without the personal attacks, to resolve issues and move past them, to trust and be trusted. Is this right? You want a relationship that is give and take, that is built on respect, trust and love. You want a partner that hears you, understands you and wants to grow with you.

Take a deep breath—you've already taken the first step by considering therapy. I know life can feel like a whirlwind sometimes, especially when it comes to relationships with ourself and others and figuring out our place in the world. It's like we're all navigating this maze of emotions and experiences, trying to make sense of it all. I want you to know that you're not alone in feeling overwhelmed by everything. I've been there too, grappling with the same questions about my own behaviour, my connections with others, and where I fit in this big, sometimes overwhelming, world. That's why I approach therapy in a way that's deeply

Clients who see me are often in committed relationships, ones that are new and just getting started or relationships that have a long history of 20-40 years or more. People want to change the relationship, deepen it or decide if it is a keeper. What each person values may need to be clarified and shared. The language they use to communicate may not bring the results they want so we look at changing how they relate, the stance each takes, the influence of family values and history. How about intimacy: is it enough to satisfy each person, is it often enough, is it forgotten?

Hi There! Life doesn't have to be full of grudges, anxiety, anger and grief all the time; or perhaps just passing by because of poor relationships and traumatic experiences that control us. I believe in our inner strength and am passionate about personal growth and healing. I think that we are all strong enough to move forward in our journey of healing, self-discovery and personal growth. I believe our first instinct as human beings is to seek contact and comforting connection.

In my work with clients, my goal is to help you explore and process the ways you feel stuck in your life and far from your goals. Are there stories you are holding about your life that are no longer serving you and are hard to let go of? I hope to help clients discover stuck narratives and choose the path that allows for a different kind of relationship with self and others. Whether it is a pattern of conflict you wish to approach differently, a topic you struggle to get perspective on or a challenge in the relationship you need help exploring thoughtfully, I hope to help create a space where change is possible.

Maybe you’re seeking a change, but want support figuring out what that is. I’m here for it. I see therapy quite simply, as a conversation – likely one you don’t get anywhere else. Therapy allows you to take a step back, tell your story, and determine the parts that may or may not be working for you. Even when you’re feeling stuck, you hold wisdom about your life. I see my role as accompanying you in gaining clarity about what you want and identifying opportunities for action. Once you hold greater awareness about what’s going on, you have choices. This can be an empowering experience.

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
