I work with individuals and couples, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Mindfulness, trauma-informed care, Gottman, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Accepting new clients - Anxiety, trauma, relationship troubles, ADHD, and stress - these troubles can feel exhausting and paralyzing. I understand. I hope to walk alongside you (or your relationship) to help you gain tools, create a space of safety, and to help you process traumas. My goal is to ensure you walk out of each session with something you can apply and learn from.

My therapeutic model is attachment-based and I am a spiritually attuned therapist who recognizes that problems are not one dimensional, but multifaceted.
Are you in need of couples therapy? Is infidelity, communication, trauma, unresolved conflict, or unmet needs affecting your life and relationships? Then let us talk in a safe environment how to de-escalate emotions, manage conflict constructively, enhance romance and intimacy, or attain an amicable solution. Or, are you in need of individual therapy? Is loneliness, anger, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, stress, grief/loss or other mental health issues getting in the way of your happiness? You can learn how to manage stress, regulate your emotions, channel your energy in a positive way, and have better relationships.

I specialize in two main areas: first, in attachment-based treatment, working extensively with individuals, couples and families using Emotionally Focus Therapy( EFT), an evidence-based treatment for relationship concerns; and second, I specialize in treatment and support for pastors, clergy and church leaders.
I specialize in treating mental health and relationship issues for individuals, couples, families, and church leaders. If you feel discouraged and disoriented in your relationships, mental health or faith life, breathe easy knowing that you don't have to struggle alone, and together we can make a roadmap to healing together. If any of the following concerns are familiar, you've found the right place: relationship issues, church hurt, anxiety/panic, trauma and/or abuse, stress or burnout, low self-worth, guilt and shame, life and family transitions, spiritual or existential questions, and pornography addictions.

My approach uses an attachment-based, trauma-informed framework, meaning my work is often experiential, and emotionally and relationally focused.
I believe that vitality and the chance to flourish happens when it’s safe enough to honestly be yourself. I consider it a privilege to accompany people through their pain, coping, self-discovery, healing, transformation, and joy. For the last 15 years, I have served in my community's social services field, working alongside people living through trauma, substance use and addictions, poverty, mental health dual-diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and criminality.

Attachment-based, healing wounded parts of self and EMDR therapy, help to not only establish trust, but also foster permanent healing by addressing emotional pain, its impact on your body and connection to your thoughts.
Silenced, invisible, unloved – A story written about you. It haunts you, and you feel it seeping into your everyday. You want to change, but you're not sure how. There’s a part of you that feels like you’re not living up to your full potential, yet another part that feels hopeless. Together, we will liberate you from this story to create a new chapter: one that helps you live up to your full potential, a life in which you feel deserving of being heard, seen and loved.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with experience supporting individuals with issues related to anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, perfectionism, life transitions as well as postpartum depression and anxiety. I have specialized training in supporting those in postpartum (from conception to 2 years after birth). Parenting is so often child-centred and my intention is to shift some of that attention and care onto the parents needs. The therapeutic work involves exploring what gets in the way of doing so. This can include perfectionistic expectations, learned coping patterns of self-dismissal and unresolved childhood issues.

In my supervised private practice I provide mental health support to women as well as families. I utilize evidence-based interventions and strive to create a safe, non-judgemental, and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients. As a young mother I can empathize with the challenges women and families go through. Parents only want what is best for their children and it can be really difficult when they are struggling. In my supervised private practice I work with women, children ages 6-10, and adolescents ages 11-17.

Now Accepting New Clients: So many of us want to make healthier choices, but it can feel overwhelming to know where to start. We may lean on self-criticism to motivate ourselves, but this only leaves us feeling drained and discouraged. Perhaps you’re feeling lost in navigating a sea of uncomfortable emotions and turn to quick fixes to escape the pain. If you notice that you constantly flip flop between feeling out of control or overly-controlling, this doesn't need to be your destiny. Even if you feel trapped in this cycle of guilt, unworthiness, and self-sabotage, there is hope for a way out.

Attachment-based Counsellors

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
