I specialize in supporting individuals through the counselling process who may be experiencing anxiety, and/or anger.
I provide psychotherapy for individuals and families who may be dealing with a variety of issues and concerns. We all face different challenges in life that may impact us differently than others, therefore, no issue is seen as less important or not as severe as another. I believe in equality across all clients and building a therapeutic relationship around that. I am a therapist who uses a client-centered approach to the counselling relationship. I believe in working together with my clients toward a common goal using a variety of strategies and techniques that would best suit their individual needs.

Have you come to the place in your life where what you have been doing to cope until now is no longer working? Or perhaps you are approaching a transition in your life and you're not sure where to even begin with those next steps. When things don’t work as they once did or your in transition, anxiety increases and is often accompanied by a desire to withdraw from the world. This becomes so difficult to navigate on your own. I see you and I understand. Many of my clients (and myself to be honest) have had similar experiences.

I work with individuals who are feeling unbalanced and stressed, perhaps due to a lack of purpose and coping skills, anxiety, burn out, low self-esteem, depression, job dissatisfaction, or facing a difficult life transition.
Change is tough, but not impossible. I believe humans are survivors, pushing through difficult times, healing wounds and ultimately thriving. Therapy support is a key component to moving beyond surviving to thriving. When you work with me, you can expect patience, empathy and a willingness to travel through the therapy process at your pace. I will be a guide and a partner as you share your pain and your successes. I encourage reflection and I support you to stay in the moment through my use of mindfulness techniques that we can use in the therapy room and that you can take with you.

Let me provide you with the tools to deal with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, adjustment to illness, loss, grief, and relationship issues.
We all assume so many important roles in our lives, we often lose sight of who we are as people. This can be especially true in times of change like marriage, the birth of a child, illness, children moving out of the home or back in, divorce, difficulties at work or at home, and a death of a love one. Often we end up feeling lost, anxious, and unsure of what we want or even who we are. I believe we all have the strength to find our answers and sometimes just need a guide to find the way more easily. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and workplace stress using science-based strategies that get results.

My aim is that you look forward to our sessions and leave feeling lighter! I love working with anxiety, BPD, trauma, low self-esteem, and anything within that realm!.
Negative thinking, procrastination, self-sabotage, trauma, not feeling good enough, masking of emotions, consistently feeling like you’re hanging on by a thread. If any of these, or even a few of these resonated with you, you are in the right place. I take a trauma-informed, and validating approach to psychotherapy in order to hold a compassion space for you to vent and process your thoughts and emotions. Whether you feel like it’s events from the past that are keeping you stuck, or a fear of failure in the future, I want to work with you to help connect the dots and get you living a more meaningful, connected, and authentic life.

I’m passionate about offering a safe space for folks who are looking for support with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, peer relationships, social skills, and life changes.
Post pandemic life has been hard on everyone, and it’s been especially tough for young people who are attempting to figure out their place in the world. Our kids are going through a lot. Their brains are constantly changing, peer relationships are important and complicated, school can be a challenge, and social media can be hard to navigate. All of this has a big impact on self-esteem and mental health.

Hi! My name is Tony. I’ve been working in mental health for over 20 years and I strive to relate to clients with patience and respect. I work with people who experience various mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I’m also really interested in men’s mental health and specifically how these issues present themselves in behaviours and emotions. In addition, I enjoy working with those transitioning into different life stages (relationships changes; separation/divorce; adulthood; parenthood; retirement). I also work with the parents, siblings, and partners who support people with severe mental health concerns.

I have extensive experience working with teens, adults and seniors living with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, as well as those living with Alzheimer's disease and forms of dementia.
Are you struggling with grief and loss, sadness and depression, anxiety and frustration, or just the stress of everyday life? Loss is more than just losing a loved one. We have lost so much of what we knew as “normal” in recent years. Grief and loss are expected realities of life but you do not need to go through it alone. Connecting with the right therapist can be the first step in addressing your concerns and making a change. My intention is to just be human with you as we work together. I would be honoured to hear your story and support you in creating the rich and meaningful life that you deserve.

Do you ever feel alone in the world, or like no one understands you? Are you wondering if a difficult experience in your past has not been healed? Feelings of fear, guilt and shame prevent you from speaking your truth. You may be anxious about the future or feel hopeless but are afraid to talk to others about it.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
