I specialize in supporting individuals through the counselling process who may be experiencing anxiety, and/or anger.
I provide psychotherapy for individuals and families who may be dealing with a variety of issues and concerns. We all face different challenges in life that may impact us differently than others, therefore, no issue is seen as less important or not as severe as another. I believe in equality across all clients and building a therapeutic relationship around that. I am a therapist who uses a client-centered approach to the counselling relationship. I believe in working together with my clients toward a common goal using a variety of strategies and techniques that would best suit their individual needs.

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life, from teenagers struggling with ADHD to older populations interested in processing childhood trauma. I have experience working with perfectionism, burnout, ADHD, OCD, anger, toxic relationships, and narcissistic abuse recovery. I am a former Special Constable with policing experience. Many of my clients are First Responders seeking support for issues related to PTSD, stress, depression, anxiety, and sleep problems. They appreciate my ability to meet them where they are due to my understanding of their complex work environment and the pressures of maintaining a work-life balance.

My specializations include: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, substance use, men's issues, grief, career guidance, anger management, behavioural issues, sexual addiction, ADHD, chronic pain, divorce, and alcohol use.
Disconnected. Broken. Hopeless. Powerless. Stuck. Many men tell me this is how they feel in our first session. Taking the first step to make change in your life and accept support can sometimes feel the most challenging and overwhelming. As a male therapist, I have learned that working with men requires a focus on practical solutions, a safe and comfortable environment, a therapist who understands the unique personal and societal challenges men face, an emphasis on self-compassion and self-acceptance, and a willingness to address underlying issues. At times, our distress can be overwhelming but when we walk together it builds strength. The therapeutic relationship is an important aspect which will strengthen as we navigate your present concerns. As we delve deeper into the presenting issue there’s the consideration of your own strengths, lived experiences, culture, and background. These aspects are taken into consideration when establishing treatment and goals for treatment.

I firmly believe that every individual deserves to lead a life filled with fulfillment. I champion the idea that true happiness is not an elusive goal but an inherent aspect of your being waiting to be unlocked. I believe that the purpose of life is not just existing but living it mindfully, cherishing each moment with gratitude and awareness.

How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
