Whether you are struggling with symptoms of stress, relationships, trauma or other issues I would be honoured to help support you as you navigate life’s challenges.
It has been said that “we don’t see things as they are, but we see things as we are”. It takes courage for the first steps towards this self-awareness and my heart is to join you on that journey. Through a client-centred approach, we can walk together towards healing and resilience.

I have first-hand experience with abuse, addiction, interpersonal and institutional trauma and understand how helpful talking to someone who 'gets it' can be.
Do you need someone to talk to? Are you overwhelmed? Have you been hurt by a person or institution and need help moving forward? I count it a privilege to listen with a non-judgmental heart and would be honoured to help you find relief and healing. Working from a Trauma-Informed Approach (TIA) can help clients gain a life-changing perspective on their past, present and hope for the future.

I aim to create a safe, supportive space where we can gently explore the intention behind these inner parts and work through and process the difficult symptoms of trauma wounding.
Do you sometimes feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck? Are you constantly battling with a harsh inner voice? If so, you're not alone. Many of us experience internal struggles that can leave us feeling drained and defeated. Often, we approach these parts of ourselves with judgment, unaware that they’ve played a role in helping us survive. When we experience trauma, our responses can become rooted in the past, rather than the present. My goal is to help you heal from those past wounds and restore a sense of calm and clarity within.

I have recently completed my Certified Trauma Specialist training.
Reaching out for help regarding our mental health isn’t easy. Often times we wrestle with stigmas, stereotypes, low self-esteem, and/or beliefs that therapy is a sign of weakness. I’ve made it my goal to create a safe, open, informative and transformative space for people to work towards mental, physical, and emotional wellness, and grow more into the person they want and were created to be. Often times we feel stuck or burnt by situations and experiences in life, and it becomes difficult to reach out. My desire is that you would allow me the opportunity to come alongside of you and help you move from overwhelmed to overcoming!

Our speciality is treating anxiety, depression, complex/developmental trauma, and couples/family therapy.
Our most fundamental need is to be seen, heard and accepted as we are. It is no surprise that the strongest determining factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. Positive change happens when we become more like ourselves rather than trying to be something others want us to be. Our team of experienced psychotherapists are here to support individuals, couples and families with their journeys towards greater wholeness and authenticity. We work with the mind, emotions and nervous system to break unhealthy thinking patterns, unburden emotional pain and trauma, build healthy self-esteem, and find deeper meaning in life.

Together, we address issues like surviving human trafficking, addiction, recovery, managing mental health conditions, & navigating complex PTSD.
Trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles are all too familiar for countless people in Canada. These challenges often feel like overwhelming mountains, blocking the light and making it hard to see the path ahead. Yet, there is no reason for anyone to walk this path alone. My approach to holistic care is neither formulaic nor prescriptive. Rather, it is compassionate and patient. I blend evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, ACT, DBT with somatic techniques and energy medicine to nurture and support one meaningful step at a time.

I am a caring and compassionate therapist with over 15 years' experience in the areas of trauma, violence/abuse, relationship issues and complex mental health concerns.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental, client centered therapeutic space for individuals and couples. I believe that a journey towards healing requires empathy, encouragement and supportive facilitation as we often haven't had the opportunity to learn ways to cope with traumatic experiences and life related stressors. This can result in dysregulation and feelings of anxiety, depression and overwhelm in our day to day lives and relationships. Let's work together to explore and address your concerns in an open minded, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, sex/body positive, LGBTQ+ inclusive space.

Some of my favourite things to help you with are anger, sexual trauma, domestic violence, relationship issues, and anything that makes you feel "different" than the status quo.
Let’s get this clear from the start: you aren’t ill, disordered, or flawed. You’re a human living in a world that creates constant stress and demands perfection. SO, while we will work on improving your quality of life, we’re going to focus on UNlearning just as much as learning. I like to explore, challenge, and empower you to lean into the difficult stuff using a gentle yet firm approach. My goal is to help you be able to accept those uncomfortable thoughts and feelings without being overwhelmed by them, and to connect you with a sense of confidence, clarity, and courage to live the way you want to.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
