My knowledge and experience are built on a foundation of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, feminist, and somatic approaches. My work in the non-profit sector focused on women and children/youth who had experienced violence and abuse. In private practice, I seek to support people by building self understanding, self compassion, and positive growth. I give clients the space they need to be heard and seen, and to help navigate their life story in a way that promotes current and future well-being. I recently completed the first year of Somatic Experiencing training and am excited to offer this approach of nervous system regulation.
My goal is supporting people after trauma, whether they are recent life events or historical. Learning about our body/brain’s normal responses to trauma, and navigating through the challenging memories and beliefs can be a very meaningful experience. I use narrative, feminist, DBD, and strengths-based approaches, among others.
