I want our relationship to be rooted in trust, kindness and cooperation.
Are you struggling with Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma or Dissociation? Do you sometimes numb yourself? Are your coping strategies no longer working? Whatever your age, and whatever you feel alone with, I want you to know- I'm here and I can help! In our time spent together, I hope to create opportunities for you to begin to heal your life. It starts with you!

But it is possible to change your relationship with even your most difficult thoughts and feelings so you can deal with life's challenges and create a rich and meaningful life experience for yourself and those you care about.
If you are reading this, my guess is that there is a life that you want to live and person you want to be but you feel stuck and sidelined by a struggle with difficult thoughts and painful feelings. Perhaps things like worry, stress, self-doubt, fear, anger, depression or anxiety keep getting in the way. Maybe you are dealing with a loss or going through a major change or transition. Maybe you have an important relationship that feels fractured or distant. Maybe you've been through a traumatic experience and you can't shake the feeling that it's following you around. Maybe life just feels empty and meaningless.

I have over 24 years of collaborating with individuals, couples and families in various mental settings assisting to uncover the social interactions that contribute to personal experiences.
Everyday we face an abundance of challenges. There are obstacles that get in the way of living our best life. Overcoming barriers is often painstaking and may seem insurmountable. Together we can illuminate the path towards improved interpersonal relationships, enhanced performance, increased energy, ample motivation or whatever hopes for change you are seeking. Using a collaborative approach, we can identify pathways to healing emotional wounds, to resolving interpersonal conflict and to building resilience.

My primary areas of interest include: helping individuals find a sense of purpose and joy in life, working with fellow neurodivergent folks (ADHD, ASD, etc), assisting clients in navigating anxiety and depression, and couples counselling.
Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Katherine, and I am an LCT-C. I believe it is important for all of us to create a life that is not only fulfilling and based in personal values, but also one that feels sustainable and realistic. We live in a world where stressors exist all around us, and from time to time, we will inevitably feel its weight. I hope to help guide and support you through the ups and downs. In return, you can gain a clearer understanding of your circumstances and feel grounded in your path forward.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
