Our minds and hearts have a natural inclination toward healing and wellbeing. Sometimes, however, those natural forces are blocked or stifled by: unhelpful stories we have been told about ourselves, unjust social forces, isolation, trauma, or any number of other challenges. Together, our work will be to unblock those healing systems, and move toward healthier connections with friends, family, community, the natural world, and with yourself. In addition to being a therapist, I work as a theatre artist and post-secondary educator. This other side of my life infuses my sessions with humour and creativity.
I work with individual clients from age 12 to end-of-life, as well as couples and intimate relationships of all kinds. I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and queer and trans experiences, and healthy masculinity. I have a particular focus on navigating careers in the arts and in academia.
My approach will focus on the stories you tell yourself (and that others have told to you), on the values that are dearest to you, and on granting yourself self-compassion. I look forward to hearing about your hopes for the future, and how we can work together to move you toward them. I am excited to meet you and to hear your story.
