Groups
Emotional Regulation (DBT)
This group is appropriate for individuals struggling with extreme emotional sensitivity. Individuals with emotional regulation difficulties go through cycles that begin with triggering events which then produce negative thoughts and emotions. These thoughts and emotions often prompt destructive behaviours which lead to more negative emotions such as shame or guilt. Using DBT Skills, learn how to manage negative and overwhelming emotions, while increasing positive experiences. The goals of this group will be to better understand your emotions, to reduce emotional vulnerability and to decrease emotional suffering.

Distress Tolerance (DBT)
This group is appropriate for those needing to learn how to manage distress in a healthy way. These set of skills are helpful for situations where an individual may not have control but needs to manage their response. This DBT group will help individuals learn to cope and survive doing a crisis while also helping us tolerate both physical and emotional pain. Some of the DBT skills that individuals in this group will be oriented on are mindfulness, radical acceptance, self-soothing with senses, and distraction.

Body Image (CBT)
This group is appropriate for individuals struggling with body acceptance, eating pathologies and body-related thought distortions. Using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach, individuals in this group will learn to identify both thoughts (cognitions) and actions (behaviours) which play a critical role in maintaining their negative body image. Individuals will gain knowledge about identifying negative thought patterns, challenging these thought patterns and then replacing these negative thoughts with more positive or balanced ways of thinking. Weekly thought records would be shared during session as a way to get peer support/feedback onmaladaptive thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
