My goal as a counsellor is to provide a warm and safe environment for clients which will allow them to develop a feeling of effectiveness and an ability to cope with life's challenges. This will allow them to identify their personal goals and maximize their potential. I have been working with children, adolescents and families for over 20 years. I have an extensive understanding of the BC school system and the factors which influence a student's emotional, social and academic well being. I am also well trained and very experienced working with adults - individuals and couples.
My strength is helping families navigate the school system. In my role as coordinator of Counselling & Behaviour Support I developed successful individualized plans for neurodiverse, anxious, learning disabled or students with weak executive to help schools better meet their needs. If you and/or your child are struggling with school I can help.
Clients describe me as kind, thoughtful & genuine. I moved to Canada 30 years ago so I have a great deal of compassion and understanding for clients who have had to adapt to a new country and culture. I also come from a family of gifted & anxious learners so I'm well equipped to help clients deal with these challenges.
