I am a registered social worker with nearly 25 years of experience in the field with a particular interest in applying a human rights lens to the work I do. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing space for individuals, using a strengths-based and person-centred approach. I've worked in rural and urban settings and have provided support to people living in Canada and other countries. My methods usually involve motivational interviewing, brief/solution-focused therapy, and prolonged grief therapy. Throughout my career, I have helped individuals identify what is important to and for them, creating plans for success.
Using the best approach for each person, we work together to build on strengths to find a pathway forward. My areas of interest are in grief, ambiguous loss, disability, stress management, managing life transitions, and conflict resolution. I have also supported individuals who have experienced disasters and conflict both locally and internationally. I
