We all need support at different times in our lives and I understand that reaching out for this help can be difficult. My therapeutic approach is to connect with you, where you are at, as the first step in our work. From there, we will strive to recognize where change is needed and how to create this change for a more manageable place in life. Understanding your story, respectfully and safely, then creating goals for success and how to get there, will be the direction of our work together. With my primary focus on anxiety, depression, family issues and grief, the ultimate outcome of our work should feel progressive and empowering.
I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist. I have 20 years of experience working with individuals and families. I utilize evidence-based approaches including: cognitive behavioural, emotion-focussed, acceptance and commitment, strengths-based, and mindfulness-based therapies. I also place a strong emphasis on integrating community supports.
Reaching out for help may be the hardest step you will take, but it could be the most important. With the help of others, either individuals or groups, this can often shift us toward a more positive direction in our lives.
