I am a Counselling Psychologist and at the heart of my practice is providing an warm, accepting and collaborative environment where you feel understood, respected and heard. I primarily work with adults and young people (18+) with a range of difficulties including self-worth, anxiety-related issues, mood, childhood emotional absence/neglect, family of origin issues, past bullying, transition and adjustment, relationship difficulties, and recovery from the effects of PTSD and trauma. Additionally, I offer trauma-informed therapy (often EMDR) to RCMP and veterans.
I value the individuality of every person and will work collaboratively with you to understand problems as you experience them and to develop a plan for therapy specific for you. My approach draws on my specialist training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, primarily, while also drawing on expertise in EMDR and CBT.
With openness, willingness and a non-judgemental and trusting environment we will build a therapeutic relationship that will support you gaining more self understanding and support the goals you have come to therapy to work on.
