As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) I offer counselling to adults, youth and families with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, and relationship issues. Another area of interest is working alongside parents and caregivers as they support their child or youth struggling with mental health and/or behavioural challenges, such as conflict in the home, difficulty managing emotions and school refusal.
Based on each client’s unique situation I offer a variety of strength-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies and solution-focused techniques. For family support counselling I will often incorporate Emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) strategies.
It can be overwhelming to reach out for help. It is common for people to feel nervous before they seek mental health supports. Within therapy I am committed to providing a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere. I offer guidance to help you develop more understanding about your past, reimagine your future, overcome challenges and achieve counselling goals.
