Experiencing challenges in different areas of our lives is a human experience, and some of us find ourselves needing support as we navigate these difficulties. As a clinician, I believe that people are the experts in their own lives and have within them the strength and the capacity to enact change. I see that my role as a therapist is to help empower people to begin making those changes, to write their own life stories, to explore their own values and beliefs about how the world works, and to develop authentic fulfilling relationships.
I have over a decade of experience working with children, youth and families around various issues including family relationships/conflict, parenting support, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. I approach my work primarily through an attachment & developmental lens; I draw on other treatment modalities as they fit with my clients.
I also have experience consulting with a variety of professionals and organizations around topics of mental health and wellness, along with cultural diversity, specifically around working with immigrant and refugee families, and with Muslim families.
