I have a lifelong passion for advocating for the personal wellbeing and for the support of others on their personal journey through the peaks and valleys of life. I am passionate about helping people who are struggling in their everyday lives to recover and regain their mental health. I transitioned to the mental health sector after working in the corporate world in many different settings which gave me an extensive life experience. I’ve pastored for over 20 years, and in that role have provided therapy to help clients work through personal conflicts, spiritual issues and marriage and family problems.
To encourage personal growth and resilience, I intend to work collaboratively with clients to help them help themselves. This includes identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, looking at the impact on feelings, identifying core beliefs, and using positive approaches that accentuates strengths and solutions.
I strongly believe in making people feel safe and supported through empathy and compassion. I believe that healing is a two-way effort that requires honest caring without judgement, and together with my client’s input we clarify and set their goals for treatment. I use a variety of Interpersonal therapies to meet clients where they are at in their journey.
