Sometimes words are not enough. As a music therapist, I bring music-making and listening to the therapy room, facilitating individuals in expressing themselves creatively, developing new coping skills, and reconnecting with their authentic selves. Each session, whether it involves listening to music, improvisation on instruments, or engaging in songwriting, is tailored to the specific needs and strengths presented by my clients. I actively listen and provide support to participants, by playing my own music and through verbal reflections. No musical training is required to participate in music therapy.
I specialized providing music therapy for youth and children, primarily focusing on working with queer and trans individuals, as well as immigrants. My experience spans across roles in social pediatrics, various community centers, and the public school system. In my practice, I emphasize anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and resource-oriented approaches.
I know that finding a therapist that feels right can be difficult. Please contact me if you have any questions about music therapy or my approach. I typically answer emails and respond to voice messages within 48 hours.
