I use an integrative model including; EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, DBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, among others.
Reaching out is a brave step. Sometimes stress builds, life happens or our history including trauma, unresolved conflict or relationship patterns can leave us feeling stuck. Playing the same tapes over and over. A negative relationship with ourselves. Facing the same patterns or facing unfamiliar situations, challenges or decisions. It can be exhausting and feel isolating. If you are looking to address the root of the issue and find support through change, then reach out. I am an easy-going, straightforward, therapist and conflict resolution specialist with 25 years experience. Book a session at "Safe Harbour Therapy" website.

Drawing heavily on the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, I encourage clients to become acquainted with their many parts (or aspects) of themselves; some, that may be unconsciously driving them towards ill health, unfulfilling relationships, and/or addictions; others, that have the capacity to heal and transform through an unburdening process.
Are you experiencing inner conflict(s) and/or relationship difficulties? Are you stuck in old belief, thought, emotional, or behaviour patterns that are no longer serving you or your relationships? Are you hoping to heal past traumautic events or overwhelming life experiences? Are you looking for someone to really listen and understand how things inside and out are affecting you? Would you prefer to thrive rather than just survive? I can help with all of that!

I specialize in mindfulness-based and attachment therapy approaches, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming), creativity and expressive arts, and family systems therapies.
Is there a gap between where you feel you are now, and where you want to be? We all have times in our lives when we feel things just aren't working anymore. If you desire connection and a place to feel understood, gain insights, and make changes, take the first step, and call for an appointment. There are many times in our lives when therapy can make a big difference. Suffering is a fact of life, but there is a way out of suffering. If you are interested in taking that journey, I can point you in the right direction, and walk with you for a time.

IFS is a transformational approach.
Does your faith feel eclipsed by anxiety, doubts or loneliness? You know why you have the struggles you have but find it hard to break free. Do you feel caught in a cycle of shame and guilt? Do you feel lost, stuck, trapped or frozen? Do you punish yourself? Do you struggle with knowing what to do? Do you suffer physical symptoms with no medical explanation? Do you find yourself unreasonably angry? Do you wonder who you are? Are you constantly triggered by past emotional pain? Do you feel overwhelmed with grief? Do you wonder why you're here? You want clarity. What would life be like if you understood and accepted yourself?

I use an integrative model including Narrative, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Brainspotting.
Reaching for help is a brave step. Whatever has brought you to this point, has likely taken a toll. Life stresses build up. Unresolved conflicts and traumas keep showing up and cause recurring issues. You notice patterns: the same argument, or same worry, the same relationship dynamics. Previous efforts to fix the problem have only brought temporary relief. You are tired of feeling this way, of fighting, of feeling alone... You want someone to help you get to the root of the issue and bring some lasting change and resolution. It's my honor to walk alongside you.

From a family systems perspective using attachment, trauma, strength based approaches, I provide options for individual, parents, and parent-child sessions.
No matter our age, stage of life, past and present life experiences life can be challenging for each of us. Feeling overwhelmed like it is all just too much or underwhelmed and left feeling like there must be more to life are common feelings for many. Finding the balance in life can prove difficult in practice no matter how great it sounds in theory but having a trusted guide can help. I am excited to offer counselling services and supports with multiple options for therapeutic approach and a wide range of strategies and tools that serve to effectively support children, youth and adults toward their individual counselling goals.

My approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based therapy, attachment theory and an embodied understanding of the nervous system.
I think it is a very human experience to assume that we need to have all the pieces together. Society also reinforces an unrealistic standard, so in an effort to belong, it can be easy to get disconnected from who we are and what we need.
